Society Biological Engineering has mission to develops new products and services that integrate biology and chemical

engineering and are cost effective, relevant, and bring value to the broad biologial community. SBE Training Initiatives fill critical gaps in biological training for chemical engineers and engineering training for scientists. SBE Guidance Projects provide a forum for industry members to share best practices in a pre-competitive environment. These programs range from developing industry guidelines and best practices to creating management-level certification program and validation requirements. SBE Info Collaborations foster appropriate sharing, standardization, and focus of collective knowledge, benefiting both company and practicing engineer. Activities will include a biological properties database and collection of predictive models. Then, the reason that make me want to join this organisation because I want to become an engineers that have good live values that engineers must have to be a good and professional person. Those live values are Excellence, Integrity, Professionalism, Life-long learning, Diversity, Volunteerism, Innovation, Social, Responsibility. If I join this Organization I can get those good live values, because we can learn it from experience sharing with world-wide organisation fellows consist of many professional in petroleum engineers. From the professional engineers experience, we can learn how to be a good petroleum/chemical engineers. This Organization also grant access to world-wide professional engineers, so we can share knowledge, discuss latest issues and research in petroleum industries that can enriching and expanding our knowledge about the industries. We can solve some problem much easier with discussion and sharing in organization forum.

I have some suggestions for this organization. First, I want the organization increase the frequency of member gathering so the members from the student chapter can chat and discuss some problem with professional more frequently, so members fro student chapter can learn so much from the gathering and this will make fresh graduate engineers more competence when they come to industries. Second, I suggest that SBE must make some program that members from student chapter and professional gather in one group and doing research or field-work together, this program could increase the experience of student member and make the student

more competence and valuable for the industries, this also could improve the advance of the industries. The last, I want SBE make some research program in alternative energy and sustainable energy where the student member including in it, so the student member can contribute to the organization even before they graduate.

If I become the member of this organization, I will actively contribute to the SBE program and learn much from the other member of SBE. I will think of some program that will give much benefit for member of SBE SC UI.
