Valentines Range

CONCEPT
Brief Design a Valentines range for the 2013 New & different style for Marks and Spencer using illustrated lettering as the main visual device. Background Consider words and sayings for the cards that could tap into a younger audience. Consider designs that are appropriate for both male and female recipiants. A name and visual identity for the range should be created. While the starting point is the range of cards, there should also be proposal for a full range of Valentines products. Consideration should also be taken as to the pricepoint that each card would fall into. Target Audience Younger male and female Marks and Spencers customers ranging from 18-30 who are shopping for Valentines cards and gifting. Solution Create a range of Valetines cards featuring a minimum of three differing styles. Create a range of gift wraps, gift tags, and gift stickers, as well as a range of gifting products, all packaged appropriately and branded with the identity of the range.

IDENTITY
The identity for the range is Just my type which is an intentional reference to both the typographic design aesthetic of the range as well as the romantic conotation. The logo is adapted depending on its application. It can function as text with a small heart motif, or inside a heart motif for example on the back pages of the greetings cards.

CARD RANGE
Card Specifications - Lower pricepoints The range of cards features 8 cards in three different styles. The first 3 are the more simple styles (fig. i) with more male-friendly editorial. These are the lowest pricepoint. Dimensions : 150mm x 150mm Stock : ?gsm card The second highest pricepoint (fig.ii) cards are more decorative and Process : CMYK more feminine in their appearance, but contain no add-ons such as foiling, gems, or flitter. The third style is the highest pricepoint (figure iii) as these 2 cards contain flitter.
