Sanchez, Sharlene G. (2011). Relationship Between Level Of Utilization Of Social Networking Sites And Study Habits Of Nursing Students.Unpublished undergraduate thesis (Bachelor of Science in Nursing, St. Paul University Iloilo, Iloilo City.)

ABSTRACT The main objective of this study was to determine the level of utilization of social networking sites (SNS) to study habits of Nursing students at St. Paul University Iloilo. Specifically, this study tried to determine the profile of the students according to sex and year level, the level of their SNS use and study habits, and whether or not there were significant differences therein when the students were grouped according to their profile. This descriptive-correlational study involved 212 Nursing students who were selected using the stratified probability random sampling method. Data gathering instrument was a

questionnaire and analysis of data involved both descriptive and inferential statistical tools. Findings revealed that the students had moderate SNS

utilization and good study habits. No significant differences in the SNS utilization and study habits were determined between genders but significant differences were established when the respondents were grouped according to year level. Students belonging to the higher years had more SNS utilization compared to the

vi

lower years, while the second year students had better study habits than their counterparts in the higher years. No significant relationship was also established between SNS utilization and study habits.
