BE 1st Semester: Power Quality Analyzer The Power Quality Analyzer had been designed for measuring the quality of AC supply. The meter was built with a PIC18F8722 and the full wave rectifier front-end circuit. The AC power line, 220VAC was measured through the step down isolation transformer. The input signal to the ADE 7753 is full wave rectified. The software performs DFT calculation finding the 1st harmonic, Voltage, Current, Frequency and Power Factor. The distortion is computed by the ratio of the amplitude of the 1st harmonic to the fundamental frequency. The meter can be applied for high voltage application with the appropriate signal conditioning PID Control Based Autonomous Line Following Robot PID Algorithm was used to ensure that the robot follows the line. All the deviations from the line were analyzed, and corrected in real time. M. Tech 2nd Semester IR Sensor based Pulse Detector Using MSP430. The Idea was to implement a low cost pulse detector using Low Power MSP430 Microcontroller, and Infrared Sensors. In this project, IR transmitter and Receiver were mounted side by side, and finger was placed on it. Depending on the flow of blood, there was variation in reflected rays caused variation in the receiver. This variation was recorded and pulse was detected.
