Play Day 3 - 19/5/2012

Date: Fireday, 26th of Gozran. The party start this session in the sleeping hall of the Winterhaven barracks, having previously found out about the death of their prisoner, Agrid. Needing somewhere quiet to conduct their morning preparations, the party leave the barracks and make their way over to the Wrafton Inn, passing the early morning preparations of the traders and sellers setting up their stalls in the market square. Entering the still quiet inn, they go upstairs to their room to discover a large sturdy padlock on their door; that was not there before. The padlock has two key holes. Seeing that they can not enter their room, the party go downstairs to nd some answers. They nd Salvana Wrafton, owner of the inn. She appears very embarrassed and apologetic. She offers the party free breakfast whilst she explains what has happened. In the early morning, whilst she was moving about the inn conducting her normal chores and duties, she noticed that your door was ajar. When she went to check she discovered that someone had trashed your room. Every drawer was pulled out, mattresses were cut open, tables turned over and every nook and cranny searched. The door had no damage and none of the windows - which had sturdy metal bar locks - looked disturbed. Salvana went and checked the key locker, which is located in her ofce behind the kitchens, and the spare key to your room was missing. Salvana has never had this happen before and keeps apologizing about your room being entered. She has cleaned up and prepared your room for you. She then went and saw Bairwin Wildarson, who runs the Grand Shoppe in Winterhaven, to get the best lock they had. It has two different keys that need to be turned to unlock. She gives you the two keys and tells you that she will not keep a spare herself so there should not be a repeat of last night. The party thank Salvana and Isabella gives her some coin to thank her for her services. Finishing their breakfast the party go upstairs and make their morning preparations. Isabella prays to her god, the monk meditates, Delina communes with her bird, and the rest of the party check their gear and sharpen blades. ******* The party, ready for a new day, leave the inn and come across an unusual sight. All the traders, sellers and customers that would normally be busy conducting their business in the market square are off to one side in a large group; with their backs to you.

As you look, trying to work out what is happening, you hear a note coming from the crowd. A strong male tenor begins to sing out a series of notes that capture your attention. You make your way over. The tune pulls at your heart strings and looking around you can see that it is having an affect on many of the locals, as you can see tears in many eyes. Making your way into the crowd you slowly and carefully make your way to the front of the group. Standing in the center is a Gnome dressed in dark adventuring gear. It is he who sings. After a few minutes the song ends after which the crowd breaks into applause, throwing coins onto the ground before the Gnome. The Gnome gathers the coins and seeing your group, makes his way over. He introduces himself as Favion, a novice Bard. He has just recently arrived here from Lington and he seeks a group of adventurers to join. He has heard a lot about your group and wishes to join you. After some discussion the party agree to take the services of the bard and accept him as a new member of the group. ******* The party make their way over to the Winterhaven temple, which appears to be a general temple that is set up for the worship of many different deities. You nd Sister Linora, who runs the temple. After you show her the medallion of Lord Orcus she tells you about the Demon Lord, who has attempted to gain entry into this world before. She tells you about the history of Winterhaven - a history that all of the locals have long forgotten: Many hundreds of years ago, perhaps even longer, an evil cult existed and came to this area, as apparently somewhere near here there exists a thinning of the fabric that exists bet:een this plane of existence and the demon plane that Lord Orcus r=les. The cult planned to open a por@al bet:een the t:o planes and allow Lord Orcus and his arAy of demons to enter our plane. The local arAy, with the help of the local Mages Guild and many Clerics of Good deities, came to this area to ght the cult. The cult managed to open a small por@al for a shor@ time that allowed them to bring for@h a small arAy of demons but the cults eor@s to make a perAanent por@al were thwar@ed by the on going combined eor@s of the arAy, Mages and Clerics.

The conict went on for nearly t:entI years and many lives were lost. During this time, this Cleric temple and the Wizard tower were built here to serMice the large numbers of Mages and Clerics. Somewhere in this area, there was also built a large for@Oess, that was the command center of the local arAy. Event=ally the forces of Good were tOiumphant and the cult was destOoyed, and the por@al closed forever. The for@Oess was event=ally abandoned as its purQose was no longer needed. It has probably long since decayed. The Wizard tower and Cleric temple had slowly aSOacted people around it, using their serMices. Slowly a small populace gOew that over the passage of time gOew into the village of Winterhaven that you see now. Linora goes on to tell you that this history has been passed down from Cleric to Cleric at the temple, each telling the story to the next keeper of the temple. She also knows that Valthrun would know about this, and more, as the mages keep written records of that time. Favion looks at the mirror, the party found previously, and remembers from his arcane knowledge that mirrors are a required magical component of spells and rituals that open planar portals; that is a door that opens one plane to another. He explains that not just any mirror can be used for this purpose but it has to have some connection to the place. Just before leaving, Favion asks Linora if she knows about a black wagon with a silver eye. She tells about a night, about 15 years ago, that a black wagon did come through Winterhaven. She saw the wagon stop to x a loose wheel, during which time a small child jumped off the back of the wagon and ran away. Men in dark clothing tried to nd the child but Sister Linora helped hide the child from them. Eventually the men gave up their search, having repaired their wagon and left the village. Sister Linora overheard some of the men talking about seeing a man, whose name started with a G, in the town of Colford. Sister Linora learnt from the child that the wagon was lled with stolen children. She helped return the child back to his parents in Lington. The party then headed over to the wizard tower to speak to Valthrun. They were told by one of the staff that he was out on urgent business but would be back later. ******* The party then leave Winterhaven on foot and head south into the wilderness, using the map supplied by Lord Padraig, to narrow down the possible location of the kobold lair. Thanks to the exceptional tracking by Isabella, they locate the kobold lair immediately and do not end up wasting hours searching. They come across a 20 meter high cliff that extends a far distance. A wide waterfall comes down into a narrow stream.

As the party approach the waterfall, Isabella sees movement through the trees and looking more carefully sees a handful of kobolds there. The party, alerted now to the danger, send Hoodlin and Favion forward, sneaking to a closer position. They observe that there are more kobolds present. Also there is an unusual circle formation of large stones. A blue glow is visible in the area formed by the stones. A large kobold, wielding a large shield and morningstar, stands in the center of this circle. As Hoodlin and Favion attempt to sneak back to the waiting party, Favion steps on a branch that snaps with a loud crack. The large kobold barks out orders to the kobolds around him and some start heading towards the party to investigate the sound. The Monk of Irori and Krondor move around towards the waterfall, with the Monk hiding in some bushes as Kronder comes unexpectedly across another kobold. Hoodling hides in some near by bushes, to keep an eye on the circle area. Favion moves back somewhat and hides in bushes getting his bow ready. Some of the kobolds come walking through the bush, one passing very close to Hoodlin, and sees him trying to hide in bushes. The kobold shouts out a warning and lunges forward with his spear, wounding Hoodlin. Delina rushes forward to protect the vulnerable Hoodlin, casting magic at this kobold who is now dazed; suddenly taking a huge interest in his own hands and spear, ignoring Hoodlin. Krondor jumps out of the way of a spear thrown at him by one of the kobolds. Isabella, seeing Hoodlin in trouble, charges forward toward the dazed kobold and swings her morningstar at the unaware kobold. The kobold does not stand a chance and collapses dead onto the ground, as Isabellas morningstar crashes through the spear and into its head. The Monk leaves his hiding spot and moves towards a kobold, swinging his temple sword, but misses. Krondor moves towards the Monk and also engages the kobold, hitting it with his battleaxe, causing a massive wound to appear. Favion starts to sing, an inspiring ballad of great deeds and heroes, the party are lled with renewed vigor and strength. The bard, notches his bow and shoots at one of the kobolds, hitting the creature in its shoulder. This kobold, clutching the arrow in its shoulder, runs back and enters the waterfall; disappearing from sight. More kobolds come into view, from all around and move quickly towards the party.

Delina, speaking words of power and touching her hawk, sends the bird towards one of the kobolds. As the wings touch the kobold, as it swoops past, the kobold appears very tired and nding it hard to hold his spear up. Isabella, pushes forward her advantage, lunges at another kobold, swinging true with her morningstar which crushes another kobold head in. The Monk attempts to strike one of the kobolds with a series of blows but misses. Krondor swings too enthusiastically and fumbles, losing the grip on his battleaxe, which goes ying ve feet back behind him. Hoodling raises his light cross bow and res at the shielded kobold in the circle. The bolt hits the shield and ies off ineffectively. Favion notches his bow, and whilst pulling the string back, fumbles his hold on the string and accidentally lets the arrow y into his own foot, wounding himself. A kobold runs forward toward the party, trying to lunge his spear, but trips and lands on the ground with a hud, splitting his head open. He looks up angrily at the party. Krondor, unarmed, ducks under a spear that is thrust at him by one of the kobolds. The large shielded kobold, remains in the circle, is yelling out orders to the rest of kobolds. A kobold runs into the blue circle and hurls a spear at Hoodlin. As the spear leaves the circle a blue haze is visible around it and it ies hard into the Gnome. It hits and wounds him. Delina, fearing for her friend, rushes again to Hoodlin and touches him, casting magic. Hoodlin feels arcane energy ow through him as a protection spell envelopes him, with Mage Armour. Isabella, having cleared all the kobolds in her vicinity, takes the opportunity to pray and calls forth a Protection of Evil blessing onto herself. Now she is closer and not engaged in combat, she looks more closely at the blue circle. With her knowledge of the arcane arts she recognizes that the stone circles, which themselves have blue arcane symbols visible, are generating some form of enhancement eld to anyone within the circle. The Monk, surrounded by two kobolds, strikes out at both and delivers deadly blows that send both ying into the air, dropping dead onto the ground. Krondor, now free of any enemy thanks to the Monk, moves back to grab his battleaxe off the ground.

Hoodlin, who is badly wounded, has no choice but to run back and hide in some bushes, out of range of the kobolds. Favion, recovering from the embarrassment of hitting his own foot, moves forward and lets y an arrow, that hits one of the kobolds in its leg. Delina, Isabella and Favion then stand their ground as a series of spears come ying at them. Luckily all the spears miss but only just. Isabella, raises her hand at the large shielded kobold, who appears to be in charge and utters a prayer to her god. Divine energy moves toward the kobold and as it hits him he instantly drops to the ground, dropping his weapon and holding his shield above his head like a frightened child. Krondor, has had enough of these troublesome kobolds and intends to show them who is boss. He steps out into the clearing, visible to all the kobolds, and stands to move his battleaxe in a dazzling display of skill, expertise, and prowess. The display, almost hypnotic, causes all the kobolds to stand their ground and cower in terror. Hoodlin seeing that the kobolds are now all shaken, feels its safe to move forward. He does so and res a bolt towards one of the ugly beasts, hitting it in the arm. Favion lets y another arrow - another kobold hits the ground with an arrow sticking out of its neck. Delina uses her sling shot towards the kobolds but misses. Isabella moves towards the shaken kobolds in the circle but also misses. From out of the waterfall burst out ve more kobolds. The Monk, who is just next to the waterfall, quickly moves across and takes down one instantly, breaking its neck. One of the new kobolds from the waterfall manages to cut the Monk with its spear. Krondor, still standing in the clearing, continues to perform his dazzling display; demonstrating his unmatched skill in the battleaxe. The new kobolds see this performance and also cower, visibly shaken by it. Hoodlin res a crossbow bolt into one of the kobolds, dropping it to the ground dead. Favion turns his bow towards the large shielded kobold, who is cowering in the circle, and manages to hit the creature in its stomach with an arrow. It drops to one knee but is still alive. Delinas slingshot again misses. Isabella again misses the kobold before her.

The Monk hits the kobold in front of him with a rapid series of strikes and sends the creature ying backwards dead on the ground. Krondor moves towards the stone circle and swings his mighty battleaxe towards one of the kobolds. He fumbles and his battleaxe hits one of the stones, getting stuck in the grey stone pillar. Hoodlins crossbow bolt hits and injures another kobold. Favion pulls back too hard on his bow string, and accidentally snaps the string. His bow is now useless until it is repaired. Cursing, he realizes that hell have to use his sword from now on. Delina, aims her slingshot carefully at the large kobold. She lets loose her stone and it hits true, in the center of the creatures head. It drops dead onto the ground; with a shattered skull. Isabella, feeling frustrated with missing easy targets, swings too hard in anger and fumbles her grip on her morningstar. As she swings it down it slips out of her ngers and drops at her feet onto the ground. The Monk steps towards another kobold and easily dispatches the creature to its death. Krondor grips the handle of his battleaxe that is stuck in one of the stone pillars and pulls with all his strength. He easily pulls the weapon free. Hoodlins crossbow bolt misses its target. Favion steps into the blue circle and feels its power. He swings his sword but misses the kobold. The kobolds in the circle now stand up, they have recovered from Krondors display and are ready to ght again. Delina invokes her witches art and places a protection hex upon Favion, but even with this help, one of the kobolds manages to hit. Favion takes a wound. Isabella, bends down and picks up her morningstar, and swings it at one of kobolds as she raises up to a standing position. The kobold dodges out of the way. The head of one kobold goes ying into the air as Krondors battleaxe removes it from its body. Hoodlin res another crossbow bolt at the kobolds, hitting another in its leg. Favion turns towards the now ready kobold and swings his sword, which is glowing blue from the enchanted power of the circle stones. The sword cuts a deep gauge into the kobolds chest - killing it instantly. The kobolds are getting fewer now and more desperate. One of them goes to throw a spear but fumbles his throw and nearly hits another kobold. The creature now realizes it has no more weapon!

Isabella charges at a nearby kobold, only to have the creature duck down and avoid her morningstar at the last second. The Monk steps towards one of the kobolds, striking the creature in its throat with an elbow strike; crushing the creatures windpipe. The dying creature collapses onto the ground, gasping for air. Favion bravely charges at another kobold but his swing misses. The Monk quickly blocks the lunging spear from one of the kobolds, as he does so he hears through the waterfall the sound of more kobolds preparing to come through. He yells a warning to the others, More coming through the waterfall! Krondor, Hoodlin and Isabella quickly take out crossbows and aim at the waterfall; waiting. Five more kobolds burst out from the waterfall but the spray from the water makes it hard to see them properly. Krondor, Hoodlin and Isabella nd it hard to aim clearly and all their bolts miss their targets. The Monk now nds himself surrounded by more Kobolds. One manages to cut his leg with its spear. In return, the Monk attacks two of the kobolds, delivering lethal blows that drop both into the water dead. Favion blocks a spear head with his sword. Krondor readies his battleaxe again for battle. Hoodlin still cant hit the kobolds with his crossbow as the water spray is making aiming difcult. Favion tries to hit back at the kobold but his swing is blocked too. One of the kobolds charges into the Monk and hits. The spear head causes a deep wound to his hip. Blood is owing freely. Delina sees the Monk is in trouble and quickly casts her last protection spell upon him. The Monk sees a eld surround him, the kobolds seem to be reluctant to get too near to him. Isabella raises her hands and utters a loud prey, sending forth healing energy forth that ows out to the surrounding area around her. The party feel healing energy ow into them - their wounds closing up. Isabella gives a quiet thanks to her god. Kobolds jab spears at Krondor and Favion but cant hit. The Monk, feeling his wounds healing up, strikes out at two of the kobolds. One manages to dodge out the way but the other gets struck and falls backwards dead, his chest open. As he does this, one of the kobolds quickly strikes out at the Monk and cuts him again on the chest. The Monk ignores the wound.

Krondor swings his battleaxe towards one of the kobolds, who tries to block the mighty blow with its spear. The battleaxe brakes through the wooden spear and cuts the kobold in half, killing it. Favion swings and hits another kobold - injuring it. Two more kobolds suddenly appear, running out of bushes from the south and attack Isabella, who is by herself in the clearing, both miss as Isabella manages to dodge out the way, as she heard them coming. Favion also dodges a blow from another kobold. The Monk kills another kobold as he kicks at one, breaking its neck, and swings his sword at another, just missing. One of the kobolds cries out in pain as Krondors battleaxe cuts off its leg. The creature drops to the ground bleeding to death. Favion swings his sword and hits the arm of one of the kobolds. Kobold blood splashes onto the ground. Again the Monk is hit by a kobold. He is bloodied and some of his robes are torn but he still continues. Delina casts arcane energy at a kobold and dazes it. The kobold bends over and starts to look intently at its own reection in the water. Isabella seeing the Monk is seriously wounded reaches out to him, praying. Healing energy ows through the Monk and his wounds close up. Favion takes a hit from a kobold spear - blood ows from a wound on his leg. The Monk, once again feeling renewed from Isabellas intervention, strikes out at the last two kobolds. Both kobolds spin and hit the ground dead as each has its skull cracked open. The party survey the scene. Dead kobold bodies litter the ground. More kobold voices can be heard behind the waterfall but these are much quieter. The battle is over for now. *******

With this break in the combat the party take a few moments to ready themselves before entering the waterfall. They gather together and Isabella ows her gods healing power over the whole party, healing everyones wounds. Favion attempts to quickly repair his bow but is unable to do so. It will take more time. It will need to be xed later. Isabella, who can speak the language of kobolds, tries to trick the occupants of the lair to come out but fails to convince them. A booming voice comes out of the lair, Come humans, if you want Irontooth, come in if you dare! The party charge in and the kobolds inside are ready and waiting for them. Krondor charges into the darkness, his Dwarven darkvision easily picking out the targets. He rushes up to the nearest enemy and knocks it down to the ground dead with his battleaxe. Isabella, followes Krondors lead and moves into the darkness, using the light from the waterfall entry and a few scattered torches that hang from the walls. There are half a dozen kobolds around the cave entrance, holding spears up, ready to throw them. Moving quickly, Isabella races up to one of the dim gures and swings her morningstar, missing the creature in the dim light. Favion also rushes in, before any of the kobolds can get a shot off, easily seeing in the dim light with his Gnomish vision, and moves directly to another kobold. His sword swings in the dim light and strikes the kobold across the face, sending it spinning dead onto the ground. Spears then come ying in toward the party, barely missing Krondor and the Monk. The Monk, dodging the incoming spears, rushes up to a kobold. At the last second the Monk jumps up and strikes the jaw of the kobold with his knee, breaking its neck instantly. From the darkness comes charging a kobold, straight at the Monk. His reexes kick in and he steps to the side to avoid the charge. Isabella raises her morningstar to deect a blow from a spear, barely missing her head. Another kobold also charges forward, at Favion. Favion see the attack and dodges it. Delina steps towards Isabella and touches her, protection magic ows into the Cleric. Krondor again performs a dazzling display with his battleaxe, the cold steel catches the dim light of the torches in the dark cave. The twirling blade forms shapes of light in the air

and makes a humming sound as it cuts through the air. The kobolds near the entrance succumb to the effects of this display and tremble in fear. Isabella, seeing her chance, steps towards one of the kobolds and swings her morningstar - cutting a long wound along its arm. Favion swings his sword at a kobold with a small buckler and also hits, injuring the kobold. Two more kobolds receive injuries as the Monk strikes out at both quickly. Hoodlin tries to stab at one of the kobolds with his dagger but misses. Delina shoots a stone towards one of the creatures with her sling shot but it goes wide. Krondor swings his battleaxe at a kobold with a buckler and hits it, but most of the impact was absorbed by its buckler and only was somewhat injured. Isabella swings her morningstar at one of the kobolds and hits it squarely on the head, crushing it skull and sending the creature ying dead upon the ground. Favion tries to hit the kobold again but his sword bounces off its buckler. The Monk also attempts to hit, striking out in a series of blows but is unable to land any blows. Hoodlin, seeing that one of the kobolds with a buckler is now occupied against two opponents and is distracted, steps quickly up and out of sight. Unseen he plunges his dagger into the creatures back up to the hilt. With a gurgle, the creature tenses up and then falls over dead. In the distance, a large gure appears. A large goblin that carries a great club. Near him is another kobold, large and wearing good armour with a battleaxe. They look like tough opponents. Krondor takes up a defensive position near a wall, just out of sight, waiting for these new enemies to come round. Isabella steps round to check the other side of the cave and sees a kobold shaman standing in the shadows. She quickly moves back and begins to load her heavy cross bow. The Monk, strikes out at another kobold near the entrance and kills him with a sickening crunch of bones. The large goblin moves forward towards the party but as it nears the corner of the cave wall, the waiting Krondor swings his battleaxe. The blade hits the goblin hard in the chest causing massive damage but the creature just ignores it. This is indeed a hard opponent as that blow should have killed any other goblin. This goblin must be Irontooth, the leader of this pack of kobolds. Irontooth swings his massive club at Krondor and hits him hard, wounding him.

The Monk moves quickly to help Krondor and moves in to engage Irontooth. He tries to hit the goblin but can not hit him. From around the other side of the cave, the kobold shaman steps out from the shadows and into the light of the entrance. Hoodlin and Delina are caught unprepared as the shaman raises his hands together toward them. Fire bursts out of its hands towards the pair of Gnomes. Hoodlin manages to duck and roll out of the way of most of the re and only gets partially burnt. Delina however takes the full force of the ames and is very badly burned. She is only just able to remain standing. Hoodlin comes up from his roll and points his loaded light cross bow directly at the shaman. The bolt strikes him in its chest, wounding the creature. Delina raises her hand weakly at the shaman and casts a spell at the creature but it appears to have no effect. The large, heavily armoured kobold moves towards the Monk and swings his battleaxe, just as the Monk barely manages to dodge. Isabella, having taking the time to fall back and load her heavy crossbow is now ready. She aims at the shaman carefully, knowing that this will probably be her only chance. The heavy bolt ies straight at its target and rips a large hole through the shamans chest. It collapses dead on the ground without a sound. As the shaman hits the ground dead another kobold steps forward from the shadows next to him. This large kobold also has heavy armour and a battleaxe. Favion swings at one of the rst smaller kobolds and cuts a deep blow into the creatures neck. It falls over dead. Krondor swings at Irontooth again and again hits ripping a chunk of ash on his side. This mortal blow should have killed any lesser creature but still Irontooth stands but shakily. Irontooth returns a swing to Krondor but his shaky hands miss the dwarf. The Monk then lets y a series of strikes at Irontooth, each one hits and each one gives a bone crunching sound. Irontooth falls over dead, crashing upon the oor. Hoodlin res another bolt at the large armoured kobold which bounces off the armour harmlessly. Delina, even though suffering from severe injuries, raises her hand at one of the two remaining armoured kobolds and speaks words of power. The creature appears to be dazed and not sure of its surroundings. One of the larger kobolds hits the Monk and slices a grave wound with its battleaxe.

Favion tries to hit it back with his sword but misses. Krondors battleaxe slams into the armoured kobold, ripping open a wound. The creature ignores it. The Monk tries to hit the large kobold but cant connect. Hoodlin also tries to hit the large creature but his bolt misses. Delina turns her attention to the other armoured kobold and with her witch magic dazes that one too. Just as the other kobold regains its senses. Isabella, having taking the time to load her heavy crossbow again, res at one of the large kobolds and hits. It takes a huge wound but keeps coming. Favion struggles to land a blow against these armoured kobolds but can not hit. Krondor once again hits the armoured kobold, blood sprays from a mortal wound but the creature will not stop. The Monk, bleeding from a bad wound, tries to strike at the large kobold but misses. Hoodlin again res his crossbow but this time he manages to land the bolt true. The shaft sticks out of the shoulder of the armoured kobold. One of the large kobold swings its battleaxe but does not hit anyone. Isabella moves towards Krondor to assist. Krondor swings again but his battleaxe is blocked by the kobold. The kobold then blocks two more blows from the Monk. Hoodlin sneaks up to one of the armoured kobolds, who is engaged, and backstabs him with his dagger. The dagger lunges in and green blood ood out but still the creature stands. Delina, seeing that Hoodlin is now in danger, and at risk to herself steps forward and touches Hoodlin - granting him arcane protection. One of the large kobolds swings at Favion. The Gnome barely manages to duck under the blade. The other large kobold swings its battleaxe at Isabella and it hits, causing the Cleric to bleed from a wound on her arm. Isabella, undaunted by the wound, swings her morningstar back and hits the creature on its side. Green blood ows from the wound. Favion and Krondor both swing at the kobold. The Gnome misses but the Dwarf hits hard. The creature goes down to one knee but still is alive. Before the kobold can get back up, the Monk swings his temple sword and cuts a deep wound into the back of the creatures neck. It falls over dead.

Only one creature remains. Hoodlin, seeing the kobolds attention focused on Isabella, again sneaks in an attack and lunges his dagger under the kobolds armpit, between a gap in its armour. The dagger plunges in and blood sprays out. The kobold turns toward Hoodlin, seeing the small Gnome, and swings his battleaxe at this threat. Its battleaxe hits and Hoodlin receives a serious wound. Favion moves into a more favorable position whilst Krondor swings his battleaxe at the last kobold, but misses. The kobold swings again at Hoodlin, and hits a second time. Hoodlin staggers back, blood owing from a large wound. He can barely stand. Isabella and Favion try to strike at the kobold but both miss. Krondor raises his battleaxe and with a cry swings it down upon the helmet of the kobold, the metal splits apart and the blade lodges into the kobold skull. The creature drops its weapon before dropping to its knees. With no sound it falls backwards as Krondor pulls his battleaxe free of the dead kobolds skull. The battle is won. The party have stopped the kobold threat. ******* The party slowly gather and Isabella once again uses her healing powers to restore all the wounds of the party back to full health. The area and bodies are searched. On the dead bodies they locate a total of 16 gold pieces and 65 silver pieces. They also cut off all the ears of kobolds, 32 pairs in total, as per the bounty they hope to collect from Lord Padraig. In a pile of rubbish, litter and treasure - which comprises of mostly shinny but nonvaluable items, the party locate the note book of Douvan Staul, which he will need if Isabella wishes for him to decipher her ancient scroll. A locked wooden chest is found which Hoodlin quickly picks open. Inside the chest is 420 gold pieces and an even greater treasure. Dwarven chainmail which the party discover is magical once Isabella casts a Detect Magic spell.

Isabella and Favion both use their knowledge of arcana to work out the Dwarven armour is enchanted, giving its wearer an protection enchantment, plus an enchantment to activities involving endurance and nally, the wearer of the armour can call forth a healing blessing once a day. ******* It is still Fireday the 26th of Gozran. It is about 1 oclock in the afternoon.

And that is where the play session ended.
