Introduction : The numerical ability test readers to the skills, an individuals have acquired in the basic arithmetic, computation of numbers critical reasoning, understanding the relationship of numbers, measurement, number sequence moreover secondary school i.e. standard-IX is among the foremost factors contributing the intellectual improvement secondary stage of education coincide with adolescences period. It is the moral society period which requires utmost care of the healthy development of a child. It plays a significant role in the development of a well balanced personality. For the present study. Among two different education boards. i.e. CBSE and GSEB, there is difference in syllabus, text books and examination periods as well as in assessment method. But how these two educational boards helps the child to develop his numerical ability is not given much importance yet. Furthermore, although not enough is known about the difference between the level of numerical ability of students of both these boards. CBSE and GSEB. The researcher has decided to conduct a research on the comparison of numerical ability of students of CBSE and GSEB schools of Ahmedabad. Objective (1) To compare the numerical ability of high achiever students and low achievers students of standards IX. (2) To compare the numerical ability of students of standards IX studying in CBSE and GSEB affiliated schools. (3) To compare the numerical ability of high achiever students of standards IX studying in CBSE and GSEB affiliated schools. (4) To compare the numerical ability of low achiever students of standards IX studying in CBSE and GSEB affiliated schools. Hypothesis HO1 : There will be no significant difference between the mean scores of numerical ability of high achievers

students and low achiever students of standard-IX. HO2 : There will be no significant difference between the mean scores of numerical ability of students of standard-IX studying in CBSE and GSEB affiliated schools. HO3 : There will be no significant difference between the mean scores of numerical ability of high achiever students of standard-IX studying in CBSE and GSEB affiliated schools. HO4 : There will be no significant difference between the mean scores of numerical ability of low achiever students of standard-IX studying in CBSE and GSEB affiliated schools. HO5 : There will be no significant difference between the mean scores of numerical ability of high achiever boys of standard-IX studying in CBSE and GSEB affiliated schools. Population In present study researcher has taken students of standard-IX of CBSE and GSEB schools of Ahmedabad as population. Sampling In present study, simple random sampling has been used by the researcher. Tool To know numerical ability of students the research has used the Numerical Ability Test, prepared by Dr.K.H.Yadav. Method of Analysis The statistical techniques are used (1) Mean (2) S.D. (3) t-test Testing of Hypothesis See Table 1 From table-1 it is evident that t-value which is calculated i.e. tcal=12.70 is more than t0.01=2.58 at 0.01 So, the HO1 is rejected at 0.01 level. It further, indicates that the high and low achiever students of standard-IX differs significantly in there numerical ability. See Table 2 From table-2 it is evident that t-value which

It further, indicates that the numerical ability of high and low achiever of CBSE affiliated schools of standard IX and high an low achievers of GSEB affiliated schools of standard IX differs. See Table 3 From table-3 it is evident that t-value which is calculated i.e. tcal=4.40 is more than t0.01=2.58 at 0.01 level Hence, the HO3 is rejected at 0.01 level. so high achiever students of standard IX studying in CBSE and GSEB schools differs scientifically in their numerical ability. See Table 4 From table-4 it is evident that t-value which is calculated i.e. tcal=0.44 is less than t0.05=1.96 at 0.05 Hence, the HO4 is accepted. It means that the low achiever boy and girls of standard-IX studying in CBSE and GSEB affiliated schools does not differ in their numerical ability. Findings : * High Achiever students of standard-IX are superior in numerical ability than low achiever students of standard-IX. * The students of standard-IX studying in CBSE affiliated schools are superior in numerical ability than students of standard-IX studying in GSEB affiliated schools. * The high achiever students of standard-IX studying in CBSE affiliated schools are superior in numerical ability than the high achiever students of standard-IX studying in GSEB afflated schools. * Low achiever students of standard-IX studying in CBSE affiliated schools and low achiever students of standard-IX studying in GSEB affiliated schools have same level of numerical ability.
