Currently, the company does not have a Retention Policy. In the last year the company lost a number of key employees. This cost the company: training time and investment in new staff to replace those who left lost knowledge because those who left took the knowledge with them coworkers who felt insecure with these key employees leaving costly candidate search inside because we do not have a data base of information on all staff and their talents and capabilities
Having a key employee retention policy will enable the organization to keep its key employees and eliminate the costs to the company of hiring new recruits to replace them.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
THE OBJECTIVE The company needs to retain the best employees to ensure: customer satisfaction, product sales, satisfied staff at all levels, effective succession planning and entrenchment of organizational knowledge and learning.

Having a key employee retention policy will enable the organization to keep its key employees and eliminate the costs to the company of hiring new recruits to replace them. THE GOALS The company now requires a Retention Policy to keep its key employees. The goal of these interventions: Keep key employees Ensure customer satisfaction Ensure product sales at current levels Ensure staff satisfaction Ensure effective succession planning Ensure organizational knowledge and learning stays in the organization
THE SOLUTION The Management Team will endeavour to make sure that the best employees stay in the organization. They will: Give their employees a competitive salary, competitive vacation and holidays and tuition reimbursement Task 2 Page 3

Compensation Benefits Work-Life Performance and Recognition Development and Career Opportunities The right mix of these elements will result in employee satisfaction and engagement. This in turn, results in improved business performance and results. DEVELOPMENT They will provide opportunities for their staff to share their knowledge in various forums, like training sessions, presentations, mentoring and team assignments. They will give performance feedback and always commend good work and effort. They will make sure that their staff enjoys their work. They will make sure that they use the special talents of each of the employees. They will involve their employees in decisions that affect their jobs and the strategy of the organization They will recognize excellent performance and link pay to performance They will recognize and celebrate success where goals are achieved by employees Task 2 Page 5
These interventions will give employees the chance to achieve and maintain a good balance between work life and home life. This will result in: Improved employee performance and higher efficiency Higher level of self-esteem and fewer staff leaving the organization to go and work somewhere else Lower levels of sick leave Decrease in stress levels
All these could lead to a favourable company image. These results will take time to manifest and should be introduced to employees fairly.
