Diablo III

Diablo III is a dark fantasy role-playing game, developed by Blizzard Entertainment. It is the part of the Diablo games, obviously. The game, which features elements of the hack and slash and dungeon crawl genres, which mean lots of monsters and lots of clicking, was released in North America, Latin America and Europe on May 15, 2012. Before its release, the game broke severalrecords and became the most pre-ordered PC game of all time on the online web shop Amazon.com. After the release it set the new all-time record for fastest-selling PC game by selling over 3.5 million copies in the first 24 hours.

Storyline
The game takes place in the world called Sanctuary, twenty years after the events of Diablo II, though its not related to Diablo II story wise. Deckard Cain and his niece Leah are in the Tristram Cathedral investigating ancient texts regarding a prophecy. Suddenly, a mysterious star falling from the sky hits the Cathedral, creating a deep hole where Cain falls into. The player character, known as the Nephalem, which means prophet, arrives in the town of New Tristram to investigate the fallen star. The Nephalem rescues Cain for Leah and discovers that the star is a person. The person doesnt remember anything but that he had a sword, which shattered into three pieces. The Nephalem retrieves the pieces, but the witch Maghda captures them and Cain, trying to force him to repair the sword for herself. However, because of the rage Leah has a big burst of power. Because of that, Maghda has to flee, and she captures the stranger. Cain, dying from Maghda's torture, uses the last of his strength to repair the sword and instructs the Nephalem to return it to the stranger. The Nephalem rescues the stranger and returns his sword, causing him to regain his memories. The stranger remembers that he was the fallen angel Tyrael. He was disgusted by the fact that the other angels didnt want to help defend humanity against the creatures of Hell. He gave up his wings and became mortal to warn the people about the coming demons Azmodan and Belial. The Nephalem tracks Maghda to the city of Caldeum, which is controlled by her master, Belial, lord of lies. The Nephalem kills Maghda, and rescues Leah's mother, Adria. Adria tells Tyrael and the Nephalem that the key to stopping the demons is the Black Soulstone, which can trap the souls of the seven Lords of Hell and destroy them forever. To obtain the Black Soulstone, the Nephalem brings the mad Zoltun Kulle back to life. Kulle reveals its hiding place and completes the unfinished Soulstone, but is killed by the Nephalem after he attempts to steal it for himself. The Nephalem kills Belial and traps his soul within the Black Soulstone, freeing Caldeum. Leah receives a vision from Azmodan, who tells her that he is sending an army from the ruins of Mount Arreat to take the Black Soulstone for himself. Tyrael, Adria, Leah and the Nephalem journey to Bastion's Keep, the only defense between Azmodan's army and the rest of Sanctuary. With the others staying behind to protect the Black Soulstone, the Nephalem enters Mount Arreat. The Nephalem kills Azmodan and traps his soul in the Black Soulstone. However, Adria betrays the Nephalem and takes the Black Soulstone with the seven Demon Lords' souls inside. She tells that she has been Diablo's agent from the beginning. Using Leah as a sacrifice, Adria resurrects Diablo. Having the souls of all the Lords of Hell within him, Diablo becomes the "Prime Evil", the most powerful demon in existence, and begins his assault on Heaven. The angels are no match for him

Tyrael and the Nephalem follow Diablo to Heaven, where the city is under attack. The defending Angels warn the Nephalem that Diablo is trying to reach the Crystal Arch, which is the source of all of the angels' power. To prevent Diablo from destroying the Crystal Arch and completing his victory over Heaven, The Nephalem confronts and defeats him, destroying him and the souls of the other demon lords forever. After the battle, Tyrael decides to rejoin Heaven but stay mortal, dedicated to building a friendship between angels and humans.

Game play
The game play is what they say Easy to learn but hard to master. You use your mouse to walk and attack, and several keyboard commands to use skills. Later in the game, combinations of skills and correct timing are needed to complete it. Whenever the players has enough experience points earned by killing monsters and completing quests, the player levels up. Leveling up allows you to equip better armor, unlock new skills and use more runes, which give your skills a unique touch. There is also a possibility of buying items through two auction houses. One where in-game money is used, and one where real money is used.

Opinion
I really anticipated this game for a few months prior to the release. I knew this was going to be big, and it was going to entertain me for lots of hours. I wasnt proved wrong. It pulled me in right from the start, and continued to do so. The story seemed interesting, and the playing itself didnt get boring at all. I also really liked the fact that there were two auction houses, and that I didnt have to pay real money to buy things, but I did have the option to. For the people that are into RPG games, this is a must-have.
