Tools required.
Soldering Iron Solder Flux Side Cutters Drill or something sharp for template creation Wire Strippers Screw Driver Needle Nose Pliers

Step 1: Use the supplied paper template(online) to make a ridged template out of either a piece of
wood(recommended) or cardboard.

Step 2: Bend the Cathode Leg (short leg or flat side) on each of the 125s LEDs so it is 90degrees to the other leg.
Be sure to bend all LEDs the exact same way.

Step 3: Put the bent LEDs into the ridged template in the pattern as shown below.

Step 4: Heat one of the places where the LED legs overlap and apply a small amount of solder. In some cases it
may be required to add a little bit of flux to get the solder to flow correctly. Go around until you have a 2D panel of (9) LEDs. Note: DO NOT leave the soldering iron on the LED legs to long or it will overheat and damage the LED.

Step 5: Remove the panel of LEDs from the template and repeat Step 7 for the 5 Layers. Step 6: Bend the Anode legs of two of the panels as shown in the picture and snip the extra length on the corners.

Step 7: Put one of the Anode bent panels back into the template and solder the remaining Anode bent panel
on top of the one in the template. Start at one corner and solder the Anodes of each layer together. Solder the opposing corner making sure the joints are at the same height and the layers are parallel to each other. Once the panels are level, solder the rest of the LEDs anodes together.

Step 8: Put the last panel on top of the other two using the same method in step 7. Step 9: Now that you have the LED structure together bend the outside legs toward the center as shown. Then
attach the PCB to it by slipping the LED legs through the evenly spaced holes on the PCB. Push the PCB all the way up to the bottom of the LEDs ensuring it is parallel to the other five layers. Once the PCB is parallel, solder the legs onto the PCB.

Step 10: Cut the legs down, saving one of the pieces cut off.

Step 11: Install that cut leg into the hole labeled BOT soldering it to the PCB and the common Cathode panel of
the bottom layer and trim as necessary

Step 12: Cut the 28gauge wire so that it will reach the middle layer common Cathode panel from the PCB

Step 13: Solder the 28gauge wire to the Top layer common Cathode panel and the PCB hole Top wrapping it
around the corner LEDs. Do the same for TopMid (layer 4 counting from the bottom), Mid (Middle layer), BotMid layer 2 counting from the bottom).

Step 19: Mount the assembled 3D LED Matrix 5x5x5 to the Clear Case (if applicable) Step 20: Connect USB cable and if assembled correctly ;) the 3D LED Matrix 3x3x3 will display its default pattern
as well as popping up a driver request.

Step 21: Point the New Hardware Wizard to the FTDI VCP drivers (twice) and make note of the comm. Port. Step 22: Try out the PC software by selecting the comm. Port applicable and start creating your very own
patterns!
