June 3, 2012 Please remember Brother Robert VanDoodewaard as he prepares for his candidacy exam during next weeks synod. Our synod delegates this year are elders Karel and Kleyn. Elder Rittner is our alternate delegate. Please pray for the blessing of brotherly unity under Gods Word during the June 4-8 synod meetings. From the Family Camp Committee: We are happy that so many of you have registered for this year's camp! We are looking forward to hearing from this year's speakers: Dr. Joel Beeke, PRTS student Russ Herman, and Pastor Al Martin. We will be focusing on the theme "The Tie that Binds," with practical applications for marriage, family, and church life. Please consider joining us, if you have not already registered!

Ladies, please join us for our 45th Annual Ladies' Conference on June 12, 2012 at 10:00am at the Providence FRC in St. George, ON, D.V. The theme for the day is Countering Cultural Pressures with Pastor J. Overduin being our speaker in the morning. In the afternoon session, Mrs. Diana Alblas will speak on Biblical Modesty in our Dress and Mrs. Meta Moerdyk will speak about Biblical Modesty in our Lifestyles. Coffee is being served at 9:30am. We hope to see you there. June 13 (Wednesday) 7 PM Consistory meeting. June 15 (Friday) Young Peoples Senior Game Night; details will come soon. June 23 - Fundraising Bike-A-Thon details will be coming soon. Word & Deed invites you to participate in our annual softball tournament th on July 28, 2012 at the CRC Rec Center, 3450 36 Ave., Grand Rapids. Join other local churches for a day of fun and fellowship with a purpose! The tournament this year will benefit the Girls Home in Tenjo, Colombia. This home is a refuge for young girls who have been abused or abandoned and who need to know the Saviors love. Coaches packets and sponsorship forms are now available from the office (usoffice@wordanddeed.org, phone: 866.391.5728) or from Karen VanderSloot, the tournament coordinator (karenjvs@hotmail.com). We look forward to seeing you there!

At the May 21 consistory meeting, brothers John DeBlaay and David Faasse were nominated for elder and brothers Mark Arnoudse and Bill Pols were nominated for deacon. Tonight, a meeting of the consistory with the voting members is scheduled immediately after the evening service. Please make this a matter of prayer for the important votes for office bearers. Members are encouraged to attend if circumstances permit. As in the past absentee ballots are permitted. Please be sure to place the names of the deacon you choose in a signed sealed envelope. The same may be done with the elder in a second signed, sealed envelope.

We would like to thank the congregation for all the many cards, words of encouragement, and gifts showered on us with the birth of our daughter, Avery. We thank God for the wonderful blessings He has given us and covet your prayers as we take on this great responsibility as parents. Thank You! Mr. Vincent Faasse had partial hip replacement surgery last week. His
recovery however has been slow. He has developed pneumonia and is unresponsive most of the time. Hospice is now taking care of him, and he will be moved to a hospice facility shortly. We pray that his soul and body may be at peace. Shut-ins: Mr. Vincent Faasse, Mrs. Dorothy Hitchcock, Mr. Cornelius Jobse and Mr. Case Kwekel. Servicemen: Dan Arnoudse, Jacob Hubach and Tyler Prince.
