Top class technology for a new era. For a long time now, Mercedes-Benz has been taking a lead role in the development of environment friendly, innovative drive technologies. With the efficient, powerful engine of the BlueEfficiency Power engine generation and BlueTec6, we have succeeded in keeping fuel consumption constant and noticeably reducing harmful emissions. Here Mercedes-Benz is setting new standards: for the new BlueTec 6 engine already satisfies Euro VI two years before implementation becomes mandatory by law. As the first vehicle in the entire range of MercedesBenz buses and coaches, the engine of tomorrow is already available in the Travego Edition 1 today! Totally relaxed in the here and now. The Travego Edition1 is not only more environment friendly, it has also become even more comfortable: for the driver and for the passengers. Thus the drivers station has been further optimised. Starting with the cockpit, through the multifunction steering wheel, steering column and switch to the ignition lock. So whatever the situation, the driver has everything safely and quietly under control. Passengers too will be even keener to board a Travego in the future. Not only because of the attractive design of the new seats. But rather because the sprung seat cushions, comfortable armrests and the simple, intuitive operation of the seats make for maximum comfort on long journeys.

The first coach with Euro VI. Specifically developed for Europe, and tested and proven under the toughest conditions from the polar circle to South Africa, the engine of the Blue Efficiency Power engine generation is now being installed for the first time in a coach in the Travego Edition 1. As the first engine in its class, the 6-cylinder in-line OM 471 engine rated at 350 kW (476 bhp) already meets the new Euro VI exhaust emission standard two years before it comes into force. This powerful, efficient, future-oriented engine ensures a drastic reduction of nitrogen oxides and particles in the exhaust gas and makes the Travego Edition 1 the leader of a new environment friendly era. A milestone in engine development. The engine of the BlueEfficiency Power engine generation with BlueTec 6 impresses not only with its high environmental compatibility but also with its high economy. For, in spite of the higher requirements, we have succeeded in keeping the fuel consumption low as usual. No additional fuel consumption in spite of Euro VI a new milestone set by Mercedes-Benz. This success is due partly to the unique X-PULSE injection system. Other top class features beside the low emissions due to the combination of SCR technology, on-demand exhaust gas recirculation and particulate filter, are: the high dynamic response of the engines thanks to the new turbocharger technology; and the powerful, dynamic three-stage engine brake. For maximum output, very quiet running and comfortable driving characteristics. And with extremely long maintenance intervals of up to 120,000 km, which keeps the life cycle costs low.

Always in the first row.

Anyone boarding a Travego knows: every seat is a front row seat. For the Travego Edition 1 this is a little bit more so. Your flagship coach has been made even more attractive and comfortable for passengers.
A new generation of coach seats. The Travego Edition 1 impresses not only with a new engine generation but also with a new generation of coach seats. The modern design of the new seats makes for visibly more appeal and noticeably more comfort. The side panel and support arm are made of high-grade aluminium. The new elegant armrest is large and ergonomically shaped. The mechanism for adjusting the seats and folding down the new shape of backrest is intuitive to operate and could not be simpler. In the zero position, a more upright backrest angle makes it easier for passengers to stand up. Also new are seats buckles arranged on the aisle-side. They facilitate quick release. All that and not least the new comfortable sprung seat cushions provide safety and seat comfort of the highest level. Almost limitless new options. The new high-quality upholsteries give you a host of compositions and really individual configurations. Thanks to the modular system, the choice is almost limitless. By the way, in all the variants the seat frame is based on a lightweight twin tube aluminium frame. Together with a patented gas spring bearing arrangement, this prevents annoying seat vibrations when travelling empty. Furthermore, the use of lightweight material has made it possible to considerably reduce the weight of a double seat. On average 70 kg less weight per bus payoff for you!

Right forward in the best seat.

The driver of the Travego Edition 1 has not only an extremely safe but also a very comfortable work station. After all, our developers have done everything possible to further optimise it to the needs of the driver.
Where you can work relaxed. The cockpit of the Travego Edition 1 already sets fully new standards as regards ease of operation, instrumentation and comfort. The completely new instrument panel shows itself off in an attractive design. The new display gives quick information on road speed, engine speed, fuel and AdBlue levels by means of four indicating instruments. In between, a colour display provides the driver with all essential information. Operation is via a practical button pad in the new multifunction steering wheel. The intuitive menu navigation also enables setting of the cruise control, taking of telephone calls and the operation of the radio system with optional bluetooth hands-free set and USB connection for MP3. The well sophisticated comfort continues with the ignition lock. The new batteryless electronic key with immobiliser like in a car meets the latest security standards. Control of the ignition and engine is by means of a simple two-step Start/Stop button.
