The Reds are in first place for the ninth straight day
TONIGHT'S GAME: Is Game 2 (1-0) of a 3-game series vs Steve Perry's Astros and Game 5 (2-2) of a 7-day,
6-game road trip that included a 2-1 series loss at Pit and Thu's off day here...following this series the Redlegs return
to Great American Ball Park for a 10-day, 9-game homestand vs the Pirates (3g), Tigers (3g) and Indians (3g)...on
Wed finished a 12-8 stretch of 20 consecutive games without a day off.
DOT, DOT, DOT....: The Reds' 3.29 team ERA for May was their lowest for that month since 1997 (3.22) and their
lowest for any calendar month since July 2010 (3.06)...since 1921, their 226 strikeouts last month were the secondmost ever in May (2008, 232k)...Sat's game vs the Tigers at Great American Ball Park is sold out, with standing
room only tickets remaining for that afternoon's 4:10 p.m. start...will be the fourth sellout at GABP this season and
the 69th overall during the regular season...tickets still are available for games Fri and Sun vs Det.
STREAKING: The Reds have won 10 of their last 13g and in that span turned a 2.5-game deficit into a season-high
2.5-game lead, tying their largest cushion of 2011 (on 4/12)...haven't led the division by more than 2.5g since they won
the 2010 National League Central by 5.0g over the Cardinals...at 29-22 are a season-high 7g over .500 for third time
(27-20, 28-21)..the Reds went 8-2-3 in their previous 13 series (2-1 at Chi, 2-1 vs SF, 2-1 vs Hou, 1-1 vs Chi, 2-1 at
Pit, 2-1 at Mil, 1-2 vs Wsh, 1-1 at Atl, 1-1 at NYM, 2-1 at NYY, 4-0 vs Atl, 2-1 vs Col, 1-2 at Pit).
THE DRAFT: On Monday, Major League Baseball's first-year player draft will be broadcast live at 7:00 p.m. ET on
MLB Network and MLB.com...the pre-draft show begins at 6:00...the Reds are expected to make their first pick at
approximately 8:20...2012 Reds Hall of Fame inductee Sean Casey will be the club's representative...the Reds will
select 14th, 49th (as compensation for the loss of Type B free agent Ramon Hernandez to the Rockies), 57th (as
compensation for the loss of Type B free agent Francisco Cordero to the Blue Jays), 78th, 109th and 142nd...Reds
Senior Director of Amateur Scouting Chris Buckley will be available in Great American Ball Park's Crosley Room
immediately after the club's first pick...the Astros will have the No. 1 overall pick for the third time in their history (1976,
1992)...per the new Basic Agreement, the draft will have 40 rounds instead of 50...the lists of Cin's 2011 draft picks

DRAFT NOTES: RHP Homer Bailey (2004 by Cin, 7th pick overall), OF Jay Bruce (2005 by Cin, 12th), RHP Mike
Leake (2009 by Cin, 8th), C Devin Mesoraco (2007 by Cin, 15th) and OF Drew Stubbs (2006 by Cin, 8th) are the only
players on the Reds' active roster selected in the first round of the draft...IF Todd Frazier was a supplemental first
round pick (2007 by Cin, 34th)...disabled LHP Bill Bray (2004 by Montreal, 13th) also was a first-rounder...12 players
who appeared for the Reds this season were drafted by the organization, including Bailey, Bruce, Leake, Mesoraco,
Stubbs, Frazier, Bray, SS Zack Cozart (2007, 2nd round), OF Chris Heisey (2006, 17th), RHP Sam Lecure (2005,

HOMER HAPPY: There were 29 home runs hit during the most recent homestand (Reds 17, Braves 6, Rockies 6), a
new Great American Ball Park record for HR during a homestand of 7 games or fewer and including a single-game
record 9 homers in Sunday's finale (Col 5, Cin 4)...according to Elias Sports Bureau, the previous GABP record for
home runs during a homestand of 7g or fewer was 28 (7g from 8/20-8/26, 2007)...Elias said the record for HR during
a single homestand of any length at GABP is 40 (10g, 7/15-7/24, 2005)...on the most recent homestand, Reds batters
produced 4, 3, 1, 2, 0, 3 and 4 homers.
COOPERSTOWN: Former Reds All-Star Barry Larkin and Cubs great Ron Santo will be inducted into the National

trio will be honored June 22-24 during Reds Hall of Fame Induction Weekend.
