INSTALLATION
Using a Paradox standard lens at the recommended installation height of 2.1m (7ft) 10%, the Paradox Digital Vision detector will provide full coverage from 1.5m (5ft) to 14m (45ft) without any dead zones (FIG-3). Avoid placing the detector in proximity to the following sources of interference: reflective surfaces, direct air flow, sources of steam/oil vapor, infrared light sources and objects causing temperature changes. Digital Microwave Detection will be hampered if installed close to vibrating metal surfaces, rotating fans, water flow in plumbing pipes or electromagnetic sources. Also note, microwave frequencies can penetrate walls, therefore, avoid installing the unit where it can respond to motion on the other side of the protected area's walls. To change the lens, choose the desired lens (see http://www.paradox.ca) and perform the following (FIG-1): a) remove the front cover of the detector (1) by gently pushing the cover pin (2) in with a screwdriver. b) pull out the bezel (4) by lightly pressing on the bezel pins (5) & (6). c) remove the lens and replace it with the alternate lens. (Note: when the new lens is properly installed, the grooves should be inside the bezel and the lens catalogue number on top.)

INTRODUCTION
The Digital Vision 525D series combines a superior performance infrared motion detector with a state-of-the-art microwave detection unit. The Digital Vision 525D motion detector includes the following unique features: 100 % Digital Motion Detection Digital Shield algorithm software Digital Microwave Detection Digital Auto Pulse Signal Processing (Patented) Digital Temperature Compensation WARNING: Do not touch the sensor surface as this could result in a detector malfunction. If necessary, clean the sensor surface using a soft cloth with pure alcohol.
d) replace the bezel by lightly pressing into place and verify that the lens is centered. After selecting the detector's location, drill or punch out holes for the screws as described below (see FIG-1 and FIG-4 on the other side). CORNER MOUNT: Carefully remove the PCB (9) by loosening PCB screw (12) and utilize holes A, B, C and D. FLAT SURFACE MOUNT: Carefully remove the PCB (9) by loosening PCB screw (12) and utilize holes E, F, G and H. WIRING: Run the wires through entry holes I & J and connect them according to the markings on the plastic back and as per FIG-2.

JUMPER SETTINGS
Paradox Digital Vision 525D detectors are equipped with four jumpers, used to set the operational modes of the detector. In the following instructions, jumper settings are referred to as being either ON or OFF. Also use the PCB layout drawing (FIG-1) to locate jumpers.
MICROWAVE WALK-TESTING
Ensure that JP4 is OFF and that JP3 is ON as described in FIG-5 (see other side). After changing the setting, allow 3 seconds for the changes to take effect. Walk-test the protected area while monitoring the red LED. If the red LED is flashing rapidly, it means that it is detecting low level signals, which are not strong enough to generate an alarm. Reduce microwave sensitivity by using a small flat screwdriver to turn the PCB's microwave sensitivity trimmer (FIG-1) counterclockwise until a minimum required sensitivity is achieved, while maintaining sufficient detection response. If the microwave detector is too sensitive, it will detect movement from outside the walls of the protected area. The microwave range (sensitivity) can be adjusted. Unlike the infrared detector, microwave detection is sensitive to movement approaching/ receding from the detector. After the walk-test, perform a non-movement test. After correct sensitivity adjustment, the red LED should not illuminate. If it does, this means that the microwave detector is detecting movement or interference from somewhere inside or outside the protected area. Interference may be generated by electromagnetic sources or moving objects, even if they are located out of view. In this case, try to relocate the detector. Upon completion of the microwave walk-test, set JP3 to OFF.
INFRARED WALK-TESTING
Set JP3 and JP4 to OFF as described in the FIG-5 (see other side). After changing the setting allow 3 seconds for the changes to take effect and then you can choose to perform the test in Normal Mode (JP1 = ON) or High Shield Mode (JP1 = OFF). Refer to FIG-5 on other side. At 20C (room temperature), you should not be able to cross more than one complete zone (consisting of 2 beams) in the coverage area with any kind of movement; slow/fast walking or running. Approximate width of a full beam at 14m (45ft) from the detector is 1.8m (6ft) see FIG-3. Upon completion of the infrared walk-test, set JP4 to OFF.
