    es ready information needed to undertake interventions. It provides quick information without the necessary reviews, institutional assessment, research etc. Disadvantages The report might contain old and irrelevant information. The qualitative data used may vary from person to person.

    Financial Statements: This data is tacit and will not change regardless of feeling, perceptions etc Disadvantage Financial statements reveal a lot but do not say anything about systems and processes within an institution.

    Attendance Registers: It is possible to gain phone numbers, email addresses, level of attendance etc from such a document. Conclusions such as peoples level of interest and

    seriousness towards a project can also be drawn from an attendance sheet. Disadvantages It does not really say much about a problem. 4 Case Study: It exposes in detail the situation of a problem Disadvantage The findings of a particular case study may not be applicable to another situation. Views and perceptions are different and as a result the findings and recommendations of a case study by Mr A might differ from that of Mr B. Recorded Observations: This provides ready information for use and can also form the perception of a person Disadvantages: The observation of one thing by a diverse group of people will vary because views and perceptions of the world are different. Diaries: It is a quick form of jotting things/indicators which can be referred to at a later date. Issues, problems, observations can be captured in outline in a diary. It can be used to capture daily observations over a period of time and conclusions drawn from it.

    Disadvantage It does not provide detailed literature about a project. Process Maps: It helps to reveal step by step approach to tackling an issue. Disadvantage A process map will need to change if the project needs to be re-planned or goals are altered for one reason or the other. Recording and analysis of important incidents: It provides relevant information and an understanding of the situation at hand. Disadvantage As earlier stated peoples ideas and perception of things vary and as a result recordings and analysis of an incident by different people will differ. Questionnaires and Surveys: It provides broad information collected from various people which can be used to analyse an issue. It provides different perspectives to issues Disadvantages It has different perspectives to issue It is not always detailed People can be reluctant in filling out questionnaires Interviews: Helps to shed light on a problem

    It reveals peoples personal opinion about a situation Disadvantage Peoples opinion will differ. People might not want to reveal much about a situation for personal interest.
