1. PROCEDURE FOR IMPORTATION A. An application form (F2/1) must be obtained from the MDs office.

One is required to attach the following before it is submitted to the MD for recommendation. 1. Copy of the Certificate of health/origin from country of origin of consignment (that is, the authority in charge of veterinary issues) 2. Copy of order form or profoma which details the consignments details including weight, product specifications like packaging and the value of the items. B. Application form(F/2/1) is recommended by the Managing Director C. Client takes form to the Ministry of Livestock Department of Veterinary Services, final authority on animal health where you will be issued with a Certificate of no objection at a cost of KShs. 1,000.00 D. Once you get the certificate of no objection rush back to Kenya Dairy Board for permit which will cost KShs 1,600 that is application at KShs. 600.00 and the permit at KShs 1000. E. As soon as the goods arrive at the port of entry you are required to pay a 7% levy of gross cost, insurance and freight before your consignment can be allowed into the Kenyan market.(If importing from EAC levy aforementioned is waived). Client takes form to the Ministry of Livestock Department of Veterinary Services, final authority on animal health where you will be issued with a Certificate of health at a cost of KShs. 1,000.00 D. Kenya Dairy Board for permit to export which will cost KShs 1,600 that is application at KShs. 600.00 and the permit at KShs 1000. The relevant laws that apply 1.
