You will need the original factory programmed keyless entry keypad code to program your own code.

To locate the original keypad code, open the right/rear door. Pull the on-body rubber weatherstrip out, around the rear side of the door closure. Fold the right/rear seatback down into the locked position to facilitate access to the right/rear seat belt anchor. Carefully pry the upper plastic panel that houses the height adjuster and seat belt anchor off the body taking care not to damage the panel. Now pry the lower panel outward just far enough to enable access to the Vehicle Security Module, where you'll see three electrical connectors plugged into it, coloured green, grey, and blue. On the module will be a series of digits on a label similar to 2L2T-15K602-EA. Beside those digits are five numbers. Those five numbers are the keyless entry keypad code. Once the original keypad code has been obtained, you will need to enter it, press the 1/2 button within 5 seconds to activate the programming mode. Holding the 1/2 button for more than 2 seconds after activation will erase the the code you programmed. The existing code will not need to be erased to program a new code. Within 5 seconds, enter the new 5-digit keypad code. The door locks will lock and unlock to confirm the new code is programmed. Hope this helps.

How to Disable the Alarm on a 2000 Ford Expedition

By Daniel Valladares, eHow Contributor
The alarm system on your 2000 Ford Expedition can be of great help in protecting your vehicle from theft or unwanted entry. Unfortunately, it can also be quite a hassle when the alarm goes off and you cannot figure out how to turn it off. Thankfully, you can turn the alarm off in two ways: pressing the alarm button on the remote receiver of the Expedition, or removing the alarm fuse from the fuse block.

How to Reset the Theft Protection in a Ford Expedition

The passive anti-theft system (PATS) is installed on every Ford Expedition at the factory. While some erroneously call this system the factory alarm, it really is not an alarm system. The PATS system will arm itself if someone attempts to start the vehicle with anything other than the PATS key programmed to that specific vehicle. Once the system is triggered, the red light on the dash will begin flashing faster than normal and it will remain in this mode until either the proper key is inserted and turned in the ignition or 15 minutes has passed.

Things You'll Need

1.

PATS key programmed to your Expedition Battery terminal wrench (optional)

Instructions
o

1
Get into the Expedition and insert the known correct key into the ignition and turn it. If you use a non PATS key, such as one that was cut simply to open the doors from an all-metal key blank, the system will remain armed. If the Expedition starts, then you have disarmed the PATS system. If not, move on to step 2.

2
Verify you have the right key. Ford PATS keys have large black plastic, or molded rubber, heads. Inside the head is a transponder chip that is programmed to a certain code so that the PATS transponder in the vehicle recognizes the key. It is possible for a PATS key to lose its programming, but highly unlikely. In the event you are certain you have the correct key, try to start the Expedition with the spare, if you have it. If the Expedition still refuses to start, move on to step 3.

3
Wait 15 minutes, until you see the flashing rate on the red light on your dashboard decrease to normal speed and then try both keys again. If this still fails to start the Expedition, raise the hood and disconnect the battery for 15 minutes, then reconnect it and try again. If, after that, you still cannot get the Expedition to start, you will need to have it towed to a Ford service department for further diagnosis by a trained technician.

Tips & Warnings

The PATS system consists of the key, the transponder and the halo. The halo is a small ring that rests around the ignition tumbler in order to recognize the proper key. If you have had your ignition tumbler or switch replaced recently, and are now having PATS troubles, inspect the halo for damage. It can be broken easily if care is not exercised when removing or reinstalling the ignition tumbler.
