Environment jdk1.4, Servlets, XML, EJB 2, Web logic 8.1, TOAD Oracle 9i Description: EMW stands for "Enterprise Middleware". It is an ongoing project, developed in stages called 'work-packages'. Each work-package contains requirements given by the clients. It supports client projects by developing and deploying a set of common services and fulfills BCs ongoing Enterprise Application Integration strategy to move from CHIS platform to Enterprise Middle Ware platform that is named as Strategic Transaction Automation Architecture (STAA). Such services are typically concerned with encapsulating functions and data in hub systems or back-end systems. Emw services (deployed on WLS Servers) listen for requests from clients and process them by sending the request to the mainframe systems through specific Middleware layers. EMW optimizes calls to the backend by sieving out invalid inputs and sending appropriate error feedback to the client without making calls to the back ends in such cases. Establishing the connection from EMW server to the mainframe system is taken care of by the EMW Infrastructure.
