Just Score More Than the Other Guys: The Will County CrackerJacks enter tonights game against the DeKalb Liners averaging eight runs per game (32 runs in four games). Although their team ERA is 5.13, the team has still won three out of its first four games and are percentage points ahead of the Northwest Indiana Oilmen for first place in the MCL South Division. We Meet Again: The DeKalb County Liners handed the Jacks their only loss of the season. On June 3 in Sycamore, the Liners scored twice in the bottom of the ninth inning to knock off the CrackerJacks 6-5. Powerball: Last night in Lisle, Ill., the CrackerJacks used starter Matt Borens and reliever Jack Rogalla on the mound against the DuPage Hounds. In the 8-5 win, Borens threw 147 pitches in eight innings, allowed just three earned runs and struck out eight batters. Rogalla picked up the save in the ninth inning, throwing 11 pitches (nine strikes), tallying two strikeouts and posting a clean 1-2-3 inning to shut the door on the CrackerJacks third win of the young 2012 season. Leftys Right: CrackerJacks southpaw Carter Smith will make his first start of the season tonight in Sycamore. Smith, a product of Tennessee-Martin and a native of St. Louis, Mo., has appeared in only one other game for Will County in 2012. On June 2 against DuPage, Smith threw 0.2 innings and picked up the save the Will Countys 6-5 Opening Night win over the Hounds. New Kids on the Block: CrackerJacks infielder Case Munson and utility man Derek Brown joined the club yesterday. Brown picked up an RBI single in the sixth inning of last nights game to tie the game 5-5 at the time.
