The Diocese of Joliet will hold its Thirtyfourth Annual Wedding Anniversary Mass on Sunday, August 19, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cathedral of St. Raymond in Joliet. Dear Family, As we celebrate this Feast of the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ, I want to congratulate again all those who received First Communion this year and their families. The central truth and miracle of our Catholic faith is the belief that the Holy Spirit transforms the bread and wine into the real presence of Jesus Christ at every Mass. Our awesome God becomes one with us in a sacramental and special way when we are nourished by His body and blood. The amazing truth is that God desires intimacy with us and becomes the spiritual food we need to exist. In John 6:53, Jesus said again, "I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you cannot have eternal life within you.
