II. COURSE TITLE : Communications for Information Technology (Communications for IT)

III. COURSE DESCRPTION : This course aims to teach students how to communicate technical information in writing to
different types of audience. It will cover the use of various effective writing techniques and styles
as well as appropriate models, diagrams and pictures/graphs.

VI. COURSE OBJECTIVES :


At the end of the semester, the students should be able to:

1. use the English language to communicate effectively inside and outside the learning area;
2. manifest mastery in English Grammar with focus on the form class words and function
words;
3. use correctly the rules and principles of English grammar in discourse;
4. apply properly the language functions in any form of communication;
5. demonstrate competencies in all forms of communication; and
6. speak fluently and accurately in English.

C. Take and pass quizzes and the major examinations; 2.50 = 80-82

D. Submit required exercises and projects; and 3.0 = 75-76 (Passed)
E. Participate in class discussions. 4.0 = 70-74 (Conditional)
5.0 = below 70 (Failed)
