HOW DOES UV WORK?

UV technology can be a better and safer solution than conventional chemical technology when it comes to destroying many waterborne contaminants. It is a non-chemical and green technology which makes its use very practical across applications. UV light disinfects by penetrating microorganisms and destroying their DNA, preventing them from multiplying. This energy (wavelengths of 240 - 280 nm) is also naturally found in sunlight in very small quantities. It is produced in much stronger intensities in Alfaa UV systems which use high intensity mercury discharge lamps, commonly known as UV lamps. No bacteria, viruses, moulds or their spores when exposed to the correct amount of UV dose can withstand this treatment!
