html Police Investigate After Naked Man Shot With Stun Gun Dies Cops looking into man's death, family intends to file lawsuit By Steve Litz and Brian Hamacher | Tuesday, Apr 17, 2012 | Updated 10:26 PM EDT Police on Tuesday were investigating the death of a man they shot with a stun gun during a confrontation after he allegedly tried to bite another man while naked. The incident began when officers from the West Miami Police and Miami-Dade Police departments responded to the 2300 block of Southwest 58th Avenue Thursday afternoon to a call of a completely naked man exhibiting bizarre behavior, Miami-Dade Police spokesman Alvaro Zabaleta said. Zabaleta said the caller told police that the man was trying to bite his neck and tear his clothes off. When the officers arrived, they encountered George Salgado, who became aggressive and violent towards the officers, Zabaleta said. The officers used their "Electronic Control Device" on Salgado and were able to restrain him, Zabaleta said. Salgado was taken to Larkin Community Hospital under the Baker Act, where he died early Friday morning. Zabaleta said the autopsy hasn't been conducted, so the exact cause of death is unknown. The death is being investigated by the Miami-Dade Homicide Bureau, Zabaleta said. An attorney for Salgado's family claims the 21-year-old was shot with a stun gun "numerous times" and "severely beaten by West Miami police officers." Attorney Jeffrey Norkin says Salgado was on LSD but was unarmed, and that 10 police officers were on the scene when Salgado was arrested. "Laughable, it's a joke, they could have easily taken this young man down peacefully with the safety of all involved," Norkin said. Reached by phone Tuesday, West Miami Police Chief Nelson Andreu said he would neither confirm nor deny the allegation about his officers beating the subject. "I cannot comment on that, that is part of the investigation being done by the Miami-Dade Police," he said, when asked about the investigation. Norkin and parents Jorge Salgado and Barbara Alfaro spoke about the incident during a news conference Tuesday morning. "My son was a very sweet child...loved his family, always said it to his dad, he made sure everybody knew he loved them," Alfaro said. "He was a beautiful person." Norkin said the family intends to file a lawsuit in federal court and is asking the State Attorney's Office to prosecute the officers involved. He says he blacked out from partying, but also admits to biting off Victoria's lip and the lip of his ex-wife. "It's not on purpose," he said during a jailhouse interview. "It's not an accident. It's just a trauma that I have, that I've never been treated for this trauma. I was raised up in a violent environment, watching my dad beat up on my mom, beat us up physically and verbally and also as well with my little brothers." Flores says his actions are part childhood trauma and part fetish. In 2008, he was convicted of biting off 80 percent of his ex-wife's lip. He was sentenced to seven years, but served seven months. When he got out, he met Victoria and they dated several months. Victoria says the night he bit off her lip, he refused to take her to the hospital unless she promised not to press charges. In fear of her life, she agreed and eventually reported it to police. Drivers coming back from Miami Beach on the causeway took their feet off the gas, bike riders slowed down and dog walkers stopped to look at the scene of Saturday afternoons macabre assault, which generated international headlines. They didnt see much. The scene had been cleaned up Security video from the adjacent Miami Herald building captured snippets of the violence on the MacArthurs off-ramp to Biscayne Boulevard as the two men one dead, the other gravely injured lay on the sidewalk as scores of officers arrived. The officer fired again, hitting him several more times, eventually killing him. After that, Vega said, all he saw was blood. Its one of the most gruesome things Ive ever seen in my life in person, he told the station. Under the causeways bridge Sunday, in the area near the attack populated by homeless people, a sheltered space was littered with cardboard mats, syringes and broken bottles. A man who called himself Rio stood near the off-ramp, about 100 feet from the crime scene, holding a sign that read homeless please help. Rio said he wasnt the only person who hung around the area. But Saturday, when he was there, he didnt see anyone else. He was napping, Rio said, when the chaos began. A police officer woke me up and told me I was in the middle of a crime scene, Rio said. On the other side of the causeway, near the eastbound lanes, another man who gave only his first name, Andres, was returning to his usual spot after showering and having a warm meal at a Miami church, he said. But drugs remained part of the conversation. Saturday, police theorized that the attacker might have suffered from cocaine psychosis, a drug-induced craze that bakes the body internally and often leads those it affects to strip naked to try to cool off. Other theories abounded, of course, sometimes leading to comparisons to one horror-movie staple, zombies. And though it may have happened in Miami, others elsewhere weighed in. Zachary Bird, 41, a Broward County anesthesiologist and doctor at a cosmetic clinic, was pulled over last Sunday after he nearly ran a Florida Highway Patrol car off the road on Central Florida Greeneway at around 1:30 a.m., the Orlando Sentinel reported. Troopers said Bird reeked of booze, and they cuffed him on DUI charges after he failed a field sobriety test. Once in the back of the patrol car, Bird snapped and began ranting about the troopers stealing his money, patrol car video posted on the Sentinel's website showed. Bird had $40,000 in his pockets and another $14,000 along with two handguns, some pills and a small vial of liquid in his BMW, troopers said. The crazed doc repeatedly smashed his head against a partition until blood began gushing down the front of his face. "Hey! Blood, blood, blood, blood all over! Take me to the hospital! Take me to the hospital!" Bird raves in the video, as he uses his head to smear blood all over the car. Bird then kicks the backdoor of the cruiser open and steps out. A large pile of cash is visible on the seat, which cops said fell out of Bird's pockets. Bird can be heard saying something to the police, then makes a sputtering sound. "You spit on me! You spit that blood on me!" one trooper bellows. Troopers eventually took Bird to Florida Hospital East Orlando, where he kicked a light above a hospital bed and continued to threaten the troopers and staff, telling the officers he could "take" all of them and warning them that he had weapons at his home, the Sentinel reported. He was charged with driving under the influence, criminal mischief and felony battery of a law enforcement officer. He was later released on bond.

Trooper said the car needed about $300 worth of repairs and cleaning by a hazmat team, ABC News reported. "We've had people fight us, punch us, even spit on us," FHP spokeswoman Sgt. Kim Montes told ABC News. "We expect that from some people we arrest, but a doctor knows how serious it is to contaminate someone with bodily fluid. That's the most unnerving part." The drugs found in Bird's car were sent to a lab for testing. He could face more charges, depending on the results of the tests. Sgt. Chuck Porter, the officer who Bird allegedly spit on, filed a warrant to get Bird tested for HIV, heptatis and other diseases that are transferable through blood, ABC News reported. Bird's employer, medical contractor TeamHealth, which contracts him out to different hospitals, told the Sentinel he was suspended while they investigated the incident. Police said they got a call at 10 p.m. Sunday from someone saying Wayne Carter, 43, had a knife and was threatening to hurt himself. When police officers arrived at the Clay Street home, they kicked in a door to his room, which had been blocked with furniture, said Lt. John Heinemann. Carter was in the corner of the room with a knife in his hand, and he stood up, he yelled at police while stabbing himself all over his body. Officers noticed that his intestines were protruding from a wound in his abdomen, Heinemann said. Carter allegedly threw some of his skin and intestines at officers as they tried to enter the room, Heinemann said. The officers ordered him to drop the 12-inch kitchen knife, but he didnt. Carter is accused of swinging the knife at officers, police said. The officers sprayed two cans of pepper spray at the man without any effect. The officers retreated and called the Bergen County SWAT Team, which helped subdue Carter so he could be taken to Hackensack University Medical Center. FRIDAY, JUNE 1, 2012 LAST UPDATED: FRIDAY JUNE 1, 2012, 11:47 PM BY JAMES QUIRK AND KAREN SUDOL STAFF WRITERS THE RECORD Wayne Carter, 44, remains in critical condition at Hackensack University Medical Center recovering from his partial disembowelment. A Hackensack man who stabbed himself at least 40 times and threw his intestines at police told officers responding to the bizarre scene that he wanted to die and was about to go to heaven, authorities said Friday. But quick thinking by Bergen County SWAT team members, allowed Wayne Carter, 44, to be brought out of his mothers Clay Street home alive. He remains in critical condition at Hackensack University Medical Center recovering from his partial disembowelment but is expected to live, Hackensack police Capt. Thomas Salcedo said. Carter, who authorities say has been hospitalized for psychiatric treatment in the past, is an example of a person who has fallen through the cracks in the social safety net and is not noticed until an act of desperation lands him in the headlines. Police deal with the untreated mentally ill and homeless on a regular basis, trying to move them into the appropriate social programs. Worst theyve seen But both Salcedo and the Bergen County Police SWAT team commander, Lt. Michael Devine, said they had never in their long careers encountered anything like the horrific scenario that played out for almost two hours Sunday night. Police received a call at 10 p.m. from Carters brother, who said Carter was threatening to injure himself with a knife. When they arrived at the home in which Carter sometimes resides, Carter had barricaded himself inside his room and blocked the door with furniture. Hackensack police kicked in the door and found Carter in a corner with a knife in one hand and a hammer in the other, Devine said. Carter stood up, shouted at the officers, then stabbed his abdomen dozens of times, eviscerating himself, police said. Officers noticed his entrails protruding from a long wound in his abdomen. He then threw intestines and skin at them as they tried to enter the room, police said. Carter refused to drop the knife and swung it at officers, who used two cans of pepper spray to subdue him, to no avail. The county SWAT team was then called to the scene. Devine said his officers first used a fire extinguisher spray water on Carters face, which had little effect. It just sprayed off the blood, and he sat there staring at us, Devine said. SWAT officers then fired 13 40mm non-lethal sponge rounds at Carters thighs and hands, Devine said. Though a single shot from a 40mm sponge round is like getting hit from a fastball, Carter did not drop the weapons in his hands. He wanted to commit suicide, Devine said. He was saying, Im gonna die today. Im sorry, but Im going to heaven. It was then that SWAT officers had to go off the playbook, Devine said. Officers used a 6-foot fire ladder to pin Carter against a wall, and dog snares were used to immobilize Carters hands, Devine said. Officers then dived toward Carter, pinned his legs, and handcuffed him. SWAT doctors and paramedics quickly took over.

Wayne is alive today because of what they did, Devine said. From 15 seconds after he was in handcuffs, paramedics and a medical doctor were already treating him. They went right to work. It was about four minutes from handcuffs to the hospital door. Contrary to widespread accounts circulating online about the incident, police found no indication that Carter had used bath salts or any other substance, but the possibility of drug use is still under investigation, Devine said. Carter has not been charged in the incident, Salcedo said. Something like this is beyond bizarre, said Hackensack interim Police Chief Tomas Padilla. Challenging cases The Police Department regularly deals with cases involving emotionally disturbed people. And such calls invariably consume a lot of the department's manpower and resources, Padilla said. Officers need to be calm and patient when dealing with those cases, and for their safety, the department requires at least two to respond to calls involving people who want to hurt themselves or others, Padilla said. Padilla said he considers responding to such calls as part of the care-taking function of the police department, but sometimes the situation goes beyond the scope of an officers training. In such cases, he said, the police will try to call in help from a mental health expert. Robin Reilly, director and founder of the FAITH Foundation, an organization that helps the homeless in Bergen County, said she did not know Carter but suspects that he was one of the untreated mentally ill. Can you imagine the desperation in that persons mind to do a thing like that? she said. Who would do a thing like that? Not a sane person. This is disgusting that this could happen to a human being. She said she believes the system may have failed Carter and also found it hard to believe that no one in the mans life knew he was spiraling downward prior to the incident. Where was his support system and how could a thing like this happen? she said. There are too many cracks in the system and people slide right through them. In my 20 years of doing this, I have seen so many people who havent gotten the treatment they need. Past problems This is not the first time police have had to fend off threats by Carter, who has been taken to the hospital for psychiatric reasons in the past. County Police Chief Brian Higgins said Carter has frequented Bergen Countys homeless shelter in the city, where county police have arrested him for disorderly conduct, including allegedly assaulting a woman with his cane or walking stick on Nov. 14. While investigating the incident the following day, eight officers confronted Carter on River Street. He picked up four large rocks in response and while holding a walking stick, threatened to throw the rocks at police if they came any closer, according to county police reports. He put the rocks down and was subdued when officers used pepper spray, the reports read. Carter was charged with assault on the woman from the previous day, terroristic threats, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, Higgins said. He has also been known to use other weapons.

He has a contraption made of strands of twisted copper wire with a loop at the end around a stone, and thats what he swings at people, Higgins said. Carter is a challenging case, someone who Higgins said has exhibited signs of paranoia in previous arrests. There are a whole host of programs and resources for these people, Higgins said. So when you think of how many get treated and get help, I think the system works well. I think Mr. Carter is part of a small number of people who maybe we havent found the right program, or mix of programs to help him or maybe he is in a small percentage of people we simply cant help. He thinks she is the one who has offended him," the source added. The man, an associate professor at Sweden's prestigious Karolinska Institute whose name was not given, was reportedly being held on suspicion of attempted murder, according to the report. "She is of course not doing well, neither psychologically nor physically," the woman's lawyer Ingela Ekman Hessius told Aftonbladet. The lawyer, who was in court Thursday and could not be reached by AFP for comment, told the paper her client had suffered "very serious injuries. The doctors have not yet said whether they can fix this or not." The attacker, who has now been ordered to undergo a psychiatric evaluation, reportedly had several children from a first marriage, which had ended only weeks before he married his current wife, a much younger woman. According to Aftonbladet, he had recently begun to suspect that she was having an affair and had allegedly decided to punish her by disfiguring her. The recent horrific news of a growling man alleged to have been found eating the face off an unconscious victim in downtown Miami may reaffirm the beliefs of zombie lovers and erstwhile zombie hunters that the staggering, putrefied dead people reawakened by witchcraft are making their way to their neighborhood for a meal, despite the fact that Miamis aberration may have been under the influence of bath salts, a new street drug experts are calling the new LSD. On Thursday, news broke from Maryland that a 21-year-old college student told authorities he had eaten the heart and brain of another man. Then late Thursday, news trickled out of New Jersey that a man had stabbed himself intentionally and threw his intestines at police. Prof. Kenneth C. Gray, with the College of DuPages Department of Psychology, said zombies are extremely scary because one of the fundamental human fears is death. In fact, he said, many psychologists believe that it is our single greatest fear, and zombies are, quite simply and literally, death personified. They are the human (sort of) manifestation of that which we fear the most. This is true of no other movie monster, Gray stated by email. Zombies are also particularly scary because they were once normal people who died, and as a result became monsters. We already fear death. Now on top of that fear, we have the fear that if we die, we will become one of those monsters, Gray stated. And heres something to think about. A bite from a wolf cant turn you into a werewolf. And all the vampires these days, at least in Hollywood, are nice people with vegetarian diets. So, dont worry about waking up with a hunger for blood. But zombies, well, as Gray puts it, are plausible as monsters go. If you think about it, all that has to happen is that a few parts of the brain have to become active in order for zombies to exist. In my psychology classes, we actually talk about which parts of the brain would be involved. There is nothing necessarily supernatural about zombies, he stated. North Riverside resident Doug Wojtowicz, an author of science fiction and thrillers, has also been a visitor to the Zombie Squad website message board. According to the website, Zombie Squad ...is an elite zombie suppression task force ready to defend your neighborhood from the shambling hordes of the walking dead. When the zombie removal business is slow we focus our efforts towards educating ourselves and our community about the importance of disaster preparation. If you are prepared for zombies, you're prepared for anything... So, whats the attraction to zombies? Its a whole bunch of things, Wojtowicz said. For some people its the fear of conformity, of being like everyone else, like in Dawn of the Dead. There is a metaphor here, Wojtowicz said.

In Dawn of the Dead, zombies converge on a shopping mall. There they shuffle through malls without purpose, without goals. Not unlike the hordes seen everyday in malls all over. Zombies can even serve as a moral compass of sorts, he said. What scares me personally is the idea of having no goals, no focus, Wojtowicz said. Its like having a job you dont like, working a daily grind. As for the Zombie Squad, Wojtowicz said participants like to ruminate over how they would have survived a particular scene in a movie, how they would prepare for a zombie onslaught. Also its just gross-out fun, he added. George Romero (director of cult-classic Night of the Living Dead) once wrote zombies are the working class of monsters, the working class stiffs, no pun intended. And conversely, when you have a zombie apocalypse going on, you dont have to worry about those conventional things you routinely do, Wojtowicz said. Now I dont have to wait in lines, pay bills, worry about having the right clothes to go anywhere. You dont have to go events you dont care about or meet with people you dont like. You no longer, have to say, No honey, you dont look fat in that dress. Zombies come by and you push that all aside, you dont have to worry about it. MONTREAL - In this chain of depraved events orchestrated by a disturbed mind, it turns out that the severed human foot delivered to Tory headquarters was only the latest link. Before that, someone repeatedly stabbed a young man with an ice pick. While both killer and victim lay naked, he dismembered the corpse and committed sexual and cannibalistic acts on it. That same person apparently videotaped the gory scene and posted it on the Internet. The video is now being reviewed by Montreal police, who are investigating a case that has shocked the country. A man by the name of Luka Rocco Magnotta is wanted in connection with a three-step crime: a killing, a dismemberment and a mailing of body parts to Ottawa. He is believed to be from Toronto and to have repeatedly used aliases and changed his name over the years. His new name, Luka Rocco Magnotta, has a prolific presence in the darkest corners of the Internet. For nearly two years, it has been notorious among animal-rights activists looking for a man who tortured and killed cats and posted videos of it online. He is also a low-budget porn actor.

His online presence is much vaster, however, than bisexual porn videos. Magnotta is listed as a model. He has been romantically linked to sex-killer Karla Homolka a rumour that he has vehemently repudiated and others have shrugged off. He is an avid author of online articles. One article written in 2009, titled "How to Completely Disappear and Never Be Found," shares a six-step process for escaping and shedding one's identity. Another offers tips on how to get into the porn business. A Facebook page belonging to a self-described model with the same name list a variety of personal heroes. They include pop star Madonna and two Russian leaders: Vladimir Putin and Joseph Stalin. "There is such things as Monsters, Demons and Ghosts," says a quote typed onto that page. "They live inside of us, and sometimes they win." Police are now on the hunt for a suspect and trying to determine what demon might possibly have possessed a man to commit the acts alleged to have been committed in Montreal. Their key target is 29-year-old Magnotta. He has also gone by the names Eric Clinton Newman and Vladimir Romanov, among others. His multiple identities were confusing enough that even police had to issue a second press release Wednesday after originally identifying him as "Rocco Luka." The geographic epicentre of their investigation is a grimy apartment building in Montreal's west end. Magnotta was renting Apartment 208 in the brick mid-rise, by the bustling Decarie Expressway. Behind that building, a man's torso was found Tuesday in a locked suitcase, buried in a pile of garbage. On the same day, a foot was found in a package opened at Conservative headquarters and a hand was found at an Ottawa postal warehouse the latter package addressed to the Liberal party. The building manager told The Canadian Press that Magnotta had been living there for about four months. In the manager's words, he seemed like a nice guy.

Police in masks were combing through the blood-soaked apartment Wednesday, having zeroed in on that particular unit from which a rotten stench was drifting out, says a building resident. The neighbour said police were showing neighbours pictures of two men the suspected victim and the homicide suspect. The packages in Ottawa came from a common source. They carried parts from the same male victim, and they were both mailed from Montreal. Police shared a few new details about the case Wednesday. "The suspect and victim knew each other," Montreal police Cmdr. Ian Lafreniere told reporters. "It isn't linked to organized crime." It apparently took a few days for anyone to find a body part. A resident in the building described the scene in the trash-filled laneway behind the complex. "I saw the suitcase and I was tempted to go get it," said Richard Payette, 60. "It didn't look too damaged. I said, 'Maybe I'll go down and get it.' But I changed my mind." The grisly discovery was made later, by someone else living nearby. Police were milling about the second-floor apartment Wednesday, where there were still traces of blood and, reportedly, still some body parts stored. Payette said the door of Apartment 208 was left open for part of the day, and the smell of rotten meat was drifting out into the hallway. The building manager said Magnotta had lived there for four months but hadn't been seen around in a while. He said there were never any complaints about noise in the unit, and that Magnotta passed a credit test to rent there. "He seemed like a nice guy," said the manager, Eric Schorer. Police said Magnotta has no criminal record. What isn't clear is why body parts were mailed to Ottawa, including a foot received at the offices of the Conservative party and a hand found at a Canada Post warehouse. Finding him might not be easy. "When making the decision to disappear, it is very important to understand that this is not a process that can be successfully accomplished overnight," said the online disappearance tips, penned under Magnotta's name. "For best results under normal circumstances, a minimum of four months is really necessary to successfully carry out the heroic actions necessary to leave your old life behind. A Chinese man called the cannibal monster was arrested two weeks ago for the murder and mutilation of at least 20 people in Yunnan province. Several reports indicate 56-year-old Zhang Yongming ate his victims, sold the victims flesh to others and also fed them to his dog. Many of the victims were young boys. Hong Kongs The Standard reports that authorities found wine bottles with eye balls inside of them and pieces of flesh hanging in his home. Yongming who was convicted of murder in 1978 was released from prison in 1997. In North Korea, the Yonhap News Agency reported earlier this month that three people were executed over the past few years for cannibalism. A man was executed for killing a girl and eating her in December 2009 and a father and son were killed in 2006 after being found guilty of cannibalism. The victim of the gruesome attack in Miami, 65-year-old Ronald Poppo, remains in critical condition after 31year-old Rudy Eugene attacked him and ate his face on Saturday. 'Zombie apocalypse' trending as bad news spreads quickly Larry Vega witnessed the attack on Miami's MacArthur Causeway. He told CNN affiliate WSVN he saw one naked man chewing off the face of another naked man.

Rudy Eugene "The guy was like tearing him to pieces with his mouth, so I told him, 'Get off!'" Vega told WSVN. "You know it's like the guy just kept eating the other guy away, like ripping his skin." "It was just a blob of blood," WSVN quoted Vega as saying. "You couldn't really see, it was just blood all over the place." Vega said he flagged down a passing police officer. "When the officer approached him, told him to stop, pointed a gun at him, he turned around and growled like a wild animal and kept eating at the man's face," Fraternal Order of Police President Armando Aguilar told CNN affiliate WPLG. The attacker was identified by Miami-Dade Police as 31-year-old Rudy Eugene. Miami-Dade referred CNN to Miami Police for all other details of the investigation.

Augilar said he suspects the attacker was under the influence of "bath salts." Four other drug use instances in Miami-Dade bear resemblances to Saturday's attack, he told WPLG. "It causes them to go completely insane and become very violent" and take off their clothes, Augilar told WPLG. Dr. Paul Adams, an emergency room physician at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, told CNN affiliate WFOR that the drug makes users delirious. They exhibit elevated temperatures and extreme physical strength, Adams said. I took care of a 150 pound individual who you would have thought he was 250 pounds, WFOR quoted Adams as saying. It took six security officers to restrain the individual. Adams said users have been known to use their jaws as weapons, according to WFOR. According to a 2011 report from the National Institute of Drug Abuse, bath salts contain amphetamine-like chemicals. "Doctors and clinicians at U.S. poison centers have indicated that ingesting or snorting 'bath salts' containing synthetic stimulants can cause chest pains, increased blood pressure, increased heart rate, agitation, hallucinations, extreme paranoia, and delusions," according to the NIDA report. In October, the Drug Enforcement Administration made possession of the stimulants in bath salts, Mephedrone, 3,4 methylenedioxypyrovalerone (MDPV) and Methylone, illegal under an emergency order. The order lasts for a year with a possible six-month extension. The stimulants have been placed under restrictions or banned in 37 states, according to a DEA press release. The victim of Saturday's attack, whom police have not identified, was in critical condition at Jackson Memorial on Monday, according to the WPLG report. Augilar told WPLG that 75% to 80% of his face was missing. Eugene had an arrest record, mostly misdemeanors, including a battery charge from when he was 16 that was later dropped, according to the Miami Herald. He had been married but divorced in 2007, WPLG reported. His former wife told the station that Eugene had been violent toward her. Authorities say Alex Kinyua, 21, admitted using a knife to kill and carve up Kujoe Bonsafo Agyei-Kodie, 37, before eating his heart and parts of his brain. The older man had been staying with Kinyua's family for about six weeks at their townhouse in the Baltimore suburb of Joppatowne. Both the victim and his alleged killer had attended nearby Morgan State University, a historically black university in Baltimore. Kinyua had just finished his junior year, and Agyei-Kodie was a graduate student who

last attended classes in 2008. Both men were also originally from Africa; Kinyua was from Kenya and AgyeiKodie from Ghana. Investigators haven't given a possible motive in the slaying. In a separate case on May 19, police said Kinyua beat a man with a baseball bat on Morgan State's campus, fracturing his skull and making him lose sight in one eye. Kinyua was free on $220,000 bail in that case. He is now being held without bond on a murder charge. In February, Kinyua posted a question on Facebook, asking fellow students at historically black colleges and universities if they were "strong enough to endure ritual HBCU mass human sacrifices around the country and still be able to function as human beings?" He referred to the tragic shootings at Virginia Tech and "other past university killings around the country" and warned "ethnic cleansing is the policy, strategy and tactics that will affect you, directly or indirectly in the coming months." Kinyua wrote on his page that he attended Morgan State and was a member of an ROTC-affiliated military honor society at the university, the National Society of Pershing Rifles. ROTC is a college-based U.S. military program that allows students to be commissioned as officers when they graduate. The page was linked to an Internet radio show called Warrior Syndicate Radio, which displayed a photo of Kinyua in green-and-white facepaint. Lt. Col. James Lewis, a professor of military science at Morgan State and the head of the ROTC program, said Friday that Kinyua participated in ROTC for 2 1/2 years but was "disenrolled" in January. He could not say why. James Holt, a friend of the victim for about 10 years, told The Associated Press that Agyei-Kodie had met Antony Kinyua, the father of his alleged killer, while pursuing a doctoral degree. Antony Kinyua is a physics lecturer at Morgan State. A spokeswoman for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said Agyei-Kodi came to the United States on a student visa but was not in compliance with the visa's terms. He was ordered removed from the country by an immigration judge in 2010 and was under ICE's supervision pending removal to Ghana. The agency had been waiting for documents from Ghana before returning him to the country. Holt said the Kinyua family took in Agyei-Kodi when he hadn't worked for three years and was trying to reestablish his life. " ... Dr. Kinyua was extremely kind in taking Kujoe into his house while Kujoe got his feet back under him." Holt said. "And I think Kujoe was on his way to re-establishing his educational status and completing his Ph.D. when this happened." Authorities went to the Kinyua home Tuesday after Kinyua's brother found what he thought were human remains in two metal tins in the family's basement. Investigators found what they believe are Agyei-Kodie's head and hands. More remains were found outside a church about a mile (1.6 kilometer) away. A woman who answered the door at the family's townhouse Friday morning said the family would not be commenting. The Maryland attack came a few days after another alleged instance of cannibalism in Miami where a man in Miami chewed away another man's face along a busy highway and wouldn't stop until an officer shot him to death. Witnesses say 31-year-old Rudy Eugene growled at the officer and continued to chew. In most cases, "asexual" is a word used to describe a person who is non-sexual. Sugiyama, however, embraces it as a way to show that he does not affiliate with either gender. Sugiyama sparked a firestorm of interest on April 8 with one tweet:

"[Please retweet] I am offering my male genitals (full penis, testes, scrotum) as a meal for 100,000 yen Will prepare and cook as the buyer requests, at his chosen location." Just days after Sugiyama's 22nd birthday, the artist underwent elective genital-removal surgery, divvied up the severed penis shaft, testicles, and scrotal skin between five people, and garnished it with button mushrooms and Italian parsley. On April 13, five of six diners who signed up for the $250-a-plate feast, sat down to dinner. The sixth person was a no-show. The next day, an organizer posted a blog -- subsequently deleted -- containing pictures of the event. Images showed dozens of people who attended the event just to catch a glimpse of the rare treat. The extra diners were served crocodile-based dishes while Sugiyama cooked up the exclusive meal. The story went viral in Japan. Some showed even more interest, while others complained. But Calorie Lab called Japanese authorities, who deemed the banquet legal because there is no law against cannibalism in the country.
