SQU
A glance of an eye!
by ASAD AL HADIDI
College of Education, English Yes, it is. Being at SQU for ve years added a lot of meaningful and valuable experiences. Honestly, SQU is a shelter for any wandered person who is hoping to enhance either his academic or social life. We have come across several difculties such as the pressure of quizzes, tests and assignments. In spite of these barriers, we found our way to success by staying tough. Indeed, life without challenges is tasteless. At SQU, we have learnt how to plan for a better future. We have learnt how to be passionate and enthusiastic to achieve our goals. Although we have concentrated on our study, we have never shut our eyes on developing our skills and talents. And through participating in numerous activities our passion has grown. It is a real-life environment. It taught us to be aware of what goes on around Oman and around the world. Spending ve years at SQU, personally, is a kind of passing dream. Everything is provided for you, all you need is to balance between all the good aspects you have. In this way, you are guaranteed that you will improve your abilities. We just need to strike while the iron is hot in order to reap what we sowed. Since I was a rst year student I kept repeating myself Oooh it is too long a period to accomplish. However, when I reached my last days, I discovered that it was not. Im a graduate student and I wish that I can go a few years back to x the mistakes that I have made. In all sectors of life, change does not come suddenly. In fact, it comes in a step by step pattern. A person cant reach the summit of a mountain unless he climbs its rocks. For those who are graduating from SQU, work hard and never stop to fulll your ambitions in life. The time we have spent at SQU is just a glance of an eye.
Benets
Apple provides a lot of vitamin B which helps in metab-
specialisation; we start training and practice teaching immediately after our 2nd year, she says. Zakiya Al Busaidi, ECHE student, added that she and her mates are already fed up from the false promises they get from people in charge for searching proper jobs for them and solving their dilemma.
A spot of hope
While ECHE graduates keep repeating we are lost and our future is all a mess, Dr. Hussein Al Kharousi assured that there are plans in progress to help them get employed as soon as possible. First of all, their secondary major, which is children with special needs and disabilities, is being mentioned in their certicates, so that employment opportunities are enlarged for them. Dr. Al Kharousi added there is cooperation between the College of Education and the Center for Career Guidance to market the specialisation, so people get a clearer idea about it and appreciate it. Further, there are discussions going on between SQU and the Ministry of Education to have these students employed in the new educational systems Integral curriculum for students of primary levels as they are capable to teach the grades one and two.
