The Incomplete Guide to Self Help

Whats your problem; I mean self-help implies you have issues, and what sets you apart from the mass confused is that you realize you need help in some way. Why not help your-self? So you have some bad habits you would like to lose, or maybe you have a fear or phobia. This is common. All of these things end with you feeling some kind of way, meaning a negative emotional response or feeling. Self-help relates to your desire to be rid of the negative feeling. Always, repeat always the feeling if negative is a fear based emotional response. Self Help | Basic Brain Functions Explained The sub-conscious or un-conscious mind is the store house of all prior experiences. The storage system using emotions to tag the data stored within the system. There are those that believe that the energetic body also stores information based on emotional tags that may block the energy system and lead to dis-ease. I agree, more on that later. So when you view the world with your (5) basic senses, that data is immediately compared to the sub-conscious mind (data-base) and a comparison is made that yields a response. It depends on your level of consciousness / belief system as to the response or rising thought that occurs. The thought is filtered with the emotional guidance system. If prior experiences were fear based, then chances are the rising thought will be tagged with a negative emotional, (fear based) response. These fear responses are based on the past negative experience that you had and you then project the possibility of a like occurrence into the future. What is missing is the ability to stop the thought, face the fear and allow the response to be neutral. Living in the now, without any response requires training; I.e. self-help.

Self Help | Conscious Awareness


Now that we discussed how the sub-conscious mind processes negative sensory data, remember, the same also occurs with positive emotional responses which are based on love.

You must realize that to help yourself you must be aware or conscious of your feelings as they occur. A perfect way to change how you feel about something; is to face the fear head on and ask yourself; what is the worst thing that can happen? Another great way of dealing with a negative response is to flip the switch. As the police-person of your own mind, have a pleasant thought on hand that you can use to flip the switch. I use a visualization technique; within my minds eye, I surround the negative thoughts with a balloon. I explode the imaginary balloon and immediately get rid of the negative thought. I then insert a pleasant thought; for instance remembering my grandson playing or saying something funny that elicits the associated feeling of love. While words are said to be powerful, your mind immediately transfers words into pictures that always have a feeling connected to them.

Self Help | Belief Systems Exposed


Belief systems consist of the data we have retained from the time we were in our mothers womb to present. All beliefs were transferred to us from our own experiences and definitely the experiences of others. For instance our teachers, our parents, our friends, or anyone that was a prominent force in our developing lives knowingly or unknowingly helped develop our system of beliefs. Traumatic events imprint us with fear. If let un-checked fears and phobias manifest in our adult lives. These traumas then affect us forever unless we are able to release them from our energy pattern. To change our belief systems is a forever process. It evolves from recognizing that we want to change to putting forth the conscious effort to that end. Famous movies like The Secret allow us to believe that positive thinking is needed to manifest anything we desire. That would be true if we didnt possess negative ingrained belief systems that reside within the sub-conscious mind that sabotage our positive thinking.

Self Help | Changing Our Beliefs


Feeling better about us may be furthered by developing an attitude of gratitude. Like flipping the switch as discussed earlier, being grateful for everything and

anything in our lives re-enforces a positive outlook.

The people we spend the most time with have a direct impact on our beliefs. If our immediate circle is negative thinking, cynical, etc. we will share in that negative energy. It makes sense then to surround ourselves with positive thinking people. Doing new things that push us beyond our comfort zones is a prime way to experience self-growth. Self-growth leads to self-confidence. Soon we will believe we are capable of obtaining new goals and hey maybe dreams really do come true. The law of attraction stated simply like attracts like. I believe that is so true. The point is that the more thoughts you have of a positive variety lead to more of the same. When you couple that with release of negative aspects then you are ready to receive what it is you really want. We have the ability to create our own realities based solely on what we believe. To thoroughly change a belief system, it is necessary to release the underlying negative belief systems that we dont usually recognize as being present; within the sub-conscious mind. Self Help | Are You Aimless?


Some time ago I went through a period of not knowingness. I really didnt know what I wanted, other than I wanted something different than what I had. It was like not knowing what I wanted to do when I grow up, (should that ever occur.) I re-read Napoleon Hills Think and Grow Rich. Once again I got grounded and became inspired to realize I really did know what I wanted; I just didnt have a plan. Developing a plan requires having an ultimate goal, a specific time to achieve the goal and a visual picture in mind when the goal is achieved. Strange enough the last elements are also required to market products to a targeted audience. A clear end result will allow you to draw up a plan by backing

in to the end results. Its important to attach feelings to the plan by using visualization techniques and knowing how to meditate is also very useful.

Self Help | What Is It You Desire?


Desire, another key to self-help is again an emotional condition where you clearly believe in yourself and have created a want that may be satisfied when you achieve what you seek. Keynote is may be. Just merely wanting something may include a feeling of lack, and as many students of the law will realize, wanting something comes from not having it, thus lack. A desire is fueled more by a strong sense of purpose, with the end result being the object or condition. When one desires something they are likely to put forth the right mental vibrations to place themselves into alignment with their desire. Add to the equation the necessary faith and the desired object or condition will soon be in sight. Faith and desire fueled by the emotional feeling of love are unstoppable. The universe at large will be forced to put in place the necessary conditions to insure the item or condition is made manifest.

Self Help | Do you Accept Responsibility?


In our daily lives many have a habit of blaming others for the negative conditions. Yet another key to self-help mastery is to accept you are responsible for everything that occurs within your current reality. At first that may be extremely difficult to wrap your head around, however to experience true abundance in your life gives it a shot. Everyone is responsible for everything, and even though you feel like stuff happens to you for a reason, the reason is you attracted it into your reality whether by purpose or subconscious conditioning. responsible for absolutely everything that occurs within my reality. I may not know why, but Im absolutely sure I do. The art of clearing the negative aspect as it occurs is to be aware that yep, it was me. I can then with assistance from my creator, release the negative aspect. When you always come from the position of love it is easier to release negativity. Optimum self-help comes from being in a state of mindfulness that if you always have one foot in the past, and one foot in the future, you will wasting today.

Self Help | Living In the Moment


I often get a smile from people I meet because Im the first one to offer a smile in advance. Treating each person you meet as the most important person in your life, (at that particular moment) is a positive way to enhance your own sense of worthiness. You have given the best of yourself. Imagine the look on a strangers face when you genuinely ask them how they are and flash that million dollar smile! Everyone on this planet is here for a reason. I believe that reason is to experience this three dimensional existence with the six senses, (adding intuition) and be a positive inspiration to every conscious being within our reality; further to increase the dynamic force of love to all that there is! Self-help is a way of expressing the desire to elevate our consciousness, becoming more aware, and furthering our purpose here on the earth. To your greatest desires, I remain truly yours!
