For more information regarding our Intensive Course offerings, please see below. Always consult our website carefully, www.methodactingstrasberg.com information regarding our program offerings and application requirements. for the most up-to-date

For payment of the required non-refundable application fee, please consult below the methods of payment that the Strasberg Institute accepts. If you wish to pay by credit card, please use the Credit Card Authorization Form and include it with your application and required supplemental documentation. This form can be downloaded from our website, or you may print the form, which you will find at the end of this document. All applicants wishing to apply to Strasberg's adult programs MUST be at least 18 years of age. Applicants under the age of 18 should send enquiries to the Director of Young Actors at Strasberg, Amanda Callahan, at Amanda@strasberg.com. We invite all prospective candidates to visit and consult our website, carefully reviewing admissions requirements and various course offerings, as well as program tuition costs and start dates at www.strasberg.com. We do not offer memberships to our Institute. All prospective students must apply and be formally accepted to our Institute in order to attend our program offerings. We accept applications for all program offerings throughout the academic year on a rolling basis. We review all applications on a first-come, first-serve basis. All 12 Week, One Year Conservatory and Two Year Conservatory Programs begin every September (Fall), January (Winter), April (Spring), and June (Summer). We do not require a TOEFL exam. We hold admissions interviews as part of the admissions process. We do not hold auditions for prospective candidates, as previous acting experience is not required in order to apply to our Institute. Class sizes range on average from 12-20 students. All international students wishing to attend our Institute must attend full-time, with at least 22 class hours per week. US citizens, Green Card holders, or holders of other valid visas (non-tourist) may apply to our full-time, 16 hour/week courses or our 22 hour/week courses. Part-time courses consisting of 8 hours of Method Acting classes per week are also open to US citizens and Green Card holders, or holders of a valid visa for part-time study. Intensive Programs We offer a Spring Intensive course of 6 weeks (May-June, 33 class hours/week), a Mid-Summer Intensive Course (July 4 weeks, 28 class hours/week), a Late Summer Intensive Course (August 4 weeks, 28 class hours/week), a Fall Intensive Course (October 4 weeks, 16 class hours/week), and a Winter Intensive (February-March 4 weeks, 16 class hours/week). All of our Intensive Programs have a set curriculum, therefore students do not choose their courses, course dates or course times; these are set by the Institute and cannot be modified. If you are interested in our Winter Intensive or Fall Intensive courses you will not be required to obtain an F-1 study visa, as you will be in class for three days a week with a total of 16 hours of class per week. ALL OF OUR OTHER PROGRAM OFFERINGS REQUIRE AN F-1 STUDY VISA. If you currently hold a valid F-1 visa, please include copy of it with your application. If your visa will still be valid for study, you will not have to apply for a new one if you are accepted to the Strasberg Institute. If you hold a visa that you believe may be valid for admissions consideration, you must include copy of the visa with your application package, so that it may be reviewed for validity. Two Year Conservatory Program Only those students who complete two (2) years of full time study with us, and are in excellent standing with the Institute, will receive a Certificate. Certificate students do not graduate, as we are a private vocational institute, and not a college or university. Any higher education institute, such as a college or university, may accept the course work that students complete in the Two Year Conservatory Program as credit towards their curriculum, however, this is at the sole discretion of that higher education institute, and not that of The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute.

Workshops If you are interested in workshops that are of shorter duration than the Intensive Courses offered by our New York campus (not 4-6 weeks), please contact our Los Angeles site to inquire about their offerings at losangeles@strasberg.com. Los Angeles For courses offered in Los Angeles, please contact the Los Angeles campus at losangeles@strasberg.com. Financial Assistance At this time, we do not work with any lenders for student loans. If you need financial assistance, please contact your bank for a private loan. If you do not have a bank account, your parents or legal guardians may request a private loan from their bank on your behalf. The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute awards scholarships and work-study positions through a discretionary fund aimed primarily at US inner-city and underprivileged applicants. Scholarship awards are extremely competitive, and they are weighted to the benefit of students already studying at the Institute. International Students F-1 Study Visas All of our program offerings require an F-1 study visa unless otherwise specified. If you currently hold a valid F-1 visa and Form I-20, please include copy of it with your application. If you hold a visa that you believe may be valid for admissions consideration, you must include copy of the visa with your application package, so that it may be reviewed for validity. Proof of Finances International students must show the US government the minimum US$2000 per month per each month of study that they will be in the US. This is a requirement of the US government in order to apply for your F-1 study visa for the New York campus and our Institute must verify that applicants have these funds before proceeding with the processing of their application. This can be done by submitting official an official bank letter and/or bank statement(s). All bank information submitted for verification must be in English, reflecting the monies available in US Dollars. If this is not possible, you or your guarantor may submit the original bank letters and statements with an official English translation attached. All translations must be notarized. International applicants should apply at least 6 weeks in advance of their desired session start date, but NO LATER than the specified Application Deadline listed for all New York program offerings. The New York Institute will not accept application packages received after the application deadline, even if the package was postmarked on or before the application deadline. Should this occur, the applicant will be contacted to inform if s/he wishes to apply for the following session intake. Application deadlines are set so that accepted students will have time to go to their local US Consulate or Embassy for their F-1 study visa application appointment. The I-20 Form needed for the Embassy appointment to apply for the F-1 study visa is issued only when candidates are formally accepted and admitted to The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute, and only after their tuition payment has been credited to our bank account or processed via the other accepted payment options listed on the application form.
