Cardiovascular Health and Lifestyle

Purpose: To create an informational medium that helps bring awareness to improving cardiovascular health or to raise awareness about cardiovascular conditions and disease. Method: You may choose one of the following, or create your own:

Create a Day
What to hand in: - An itinerary with a list of at least 4 activities and an explanation of how they are related to the theme (activities like they had in the cafeteria during mental health week driving with goggles, walking on a line, etc.) A poster that advertises the day.

Menu Plan
What to hand in: - Recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner and two snacks for a person with a cardiovascular condition or disease. - Include an explanation of why you chose those recipes. - Reference the recipes if you take them from a site.

Exercise Plan
What to hand in: - A list of 6 exercises and steps for how to execute them safely. - Include an explanation for why you chose those exercises.

Report
What to hand in: A one page report on a cardiovascular condition or disease that describes it from a biological perspective, and how to prevent it and treat it. - Include references for where you got your information.

Comic
What to hand in: A comic strip that tells a story about or gives information about a heart or a blood vessel and some aspect of having, treating, preventing or explaining a condition. - Comic should have at least 8 sections where text is included.

Board Game
What to hand in: A board game that highlights the effects and/or reasons for cardiovascular conditions (e.g., you skipped your exercise today; lose a turn, you walked to school, go forward two spaces.)
