Cartoons has seen the birth of more cartoon
stars than any other studio in history—
an incredible legacy drawn by Bill Hanna
and Joe Barbera. That heritage has inspired
us, the studio's latest generation, to push
ourselves to our own creative heights.

“[[he What A Cartoon! premiere, Dexter's Laboratory, was met with overwhelming
response from the audience, tripling the Cartoon Network's average rating.
In the year that followed, Cow & Chicken and Johnny Bravo were among their
top 5 favorites. What A Cartoon! got Hanna-Barbera's first ever Academy Award
nomination, three primetime Emmy no: ations, 15 Annie nominations (the Annie
is the Oscar of animation), and two Annie awards. Critical acclaim followed the
audience with one writer proclaiming “In one of the biggest coups of the century
[Hanna-Barbera Cartoons] is now one of the best around.” And most flattering
of all, our competitors were all talking about doing “shorts” again.
