1.Suggestion for us..as a fresher..should'nt go to maintenance or production sup port projects...we cant learn anything...Just ask MATC...

if there is any develop ment projects....As a fresher if we get into development project...We can learn lot of things...and We will get very good foundation...Previously..Maint enace and production support projects are experienced people...But..now adays..T CS are RECRUITING freshers... 2.MATC---MANPOWER ALLOCATION TASK/TEAM COMMITEE..They are the people who will as sign projects...After completing our ILP..when u go to the base branch..WE have to meet this MATC people for getting projects.... 3.Even though if you learn some course out side..No One can guarantee..that you will get exactly..the same stream training in ILP...But u will have on advantage ...For suppose..If you learn Java course outside..and If you got some stream tra ining as Mainframes..Then after coming to base branch..u can ask..ur MATC...that i have good knowledge on java...and i am looking for java projects..they will p rovide java projects..Let me know if you need anything more 4.those who wants to join SAP....go for ABAP..it is the only programming lanagua ges....remaining all modules are functional..No programming at all...SAP HR(pay roll in comapnies and performance,salary hikes..etc)..SAP BI/BW/(BUSINESS INTELL IGENCE WARE HOUSE..it is at present top rated module)..GETTING VERY GOOD PACKAGE S...SAP MM(material management),SAP PP(production palnning,SAP FICO,SAP SD(sales and distribution) http://www.scjpdumps.com/resources/ebook/sun-certified-javaprogrammer-scjp-exam.pdf 5.For JAVA/SCJP CERTIFICATION MATERIALS....Please go this link...www.drivehq.com and give user name:bharathram AND password:sarayu....After login..Go to My DOCU MENTS---->CERTIFICATIONS.. ..I will upload all the tehcnology stuff soon....Its difficult for me to send a mail to all the people...because..It contains huge data....

6.Onething..is assured u people..Until u get a Bad team lead or Project lead...T CS is the best place...Dont worry about projects and all...hardly u may have to work for 2-3 hours...i mean if it is a development project..If it is a maintenan ce or production support...U have to work for 9hrs.. 7.There will be very less attition rate for freshers...Because....all comapnies are asking...only 3+ exp...so..only small companies..i.e. Level 3 companies..wil l call 1+ or 2+..So those who joined TCS..upto 3 yrs...they wont look for job ch ange...After that ..the attiation rate will be around..11-15%..durin 2010-11... 8.On every TATA Product ....TCS people will get discounts.for all the TCS employ ees..BUT U HAVE TO SHOW YOUR ID CARD..EVERYWHERE..Such as 1.TITAN WATCHES----5% 2.WESTSIDE GARMENTS---10% IF U PAY BY CASH AND 7.5% IF YOU THROUGH DEBIT AND CRE DIT CARDS 3.Thanisq jewellery---7% discount on making charges..Not on jewellery.

During 2003-2006...period..Those who has 9 months exp also..the went to abroa d..Upto 2008..Those who completed 1 year in TCS...After their confirmation...i.e .their role change from ASE-TRAINEE to ASE..Project leads will start to initiate L1B or H1B visas..But from recession...They stopped inititating visas...to US.. If you are from NON-IT back ground...u should have minimum 3 yrs experience..and if you are from CSE,IT or MCA...u need to have minimum 2yrs exp...For other cou ntries...it depends on ur project.. [For Non Us countries..U may get soon also...] 10.If you want to go for onsite....u have to excel urself in the projects..and u have to maintain good relations with ur team.... 11.Normally...Clients(Those who will give projects to companies like TCS,infy,WI PRO)...they will ask to work from Offshore(India) only...But thier timings norma lly wont match with Indian timings..So they need some onsite(Client place...i.e. US or ANY COUNTRY) coordinators...at their place..to discuss..how the work is go ing on at offshore...They will conduct regular status meeting with the clients.. .and they will update all the stuff..that is going at offshore to the client...B ecause..client doesnt have time....to come overhere..This is the role of onsite coordinator and thier work at onsite... 12.IT---It is completly related to 1. Development(Clients will assign new projec ts...in simple terms..Developing new programs for future requirements).2.Mainten ance(Fo r the existing programs,u need to add the new requirements,)...3.Production supp ort.(Everday,some abends(errors) will occur...U need to resolve them based on th e priority..For this..u have to work in shifts...Of all this..I will prefer deve lopment is good...for your growth.. 13.Yes...TCS..will support you for further studies...But you should maintain...G ood rating for 2yrs....after that u can take leave for 2 years and we can join a gain in TCS..if u want...otherwise u can pay the amount and u can join in some o ther company.. 14.ITIS...It is related to 1. is services,He will raise a ticket(query) to the helpdesk people(Who will sit re motely not the receptionists)..These helpdesk people(ITIS related people)..They have to look into this issue and they have to answer the query within 24hrs..If they are unable to answer within this time..it will go as an escalation...These are the duities of HELP DESK.... 14.1->ITIS-----.2..Cloud computing srevices(latest technology..which every compa ny is using which will reduce their costs.....Especially..Google,IBM,yahoo,MICRO SFOT..they are providing this services...)..Now a days.Clients from all the proj ects are requesting the offshore companies like TCS,INFY,WIPRO.. to provide this services or to support thier services..Most cloud computing infrastructures con sist of services delivered through shared data-centers and appearing as a single point of access for consumers' computing needs. Commercial offerings may be req uired to meet service level agreements (SLAs), but specific terms are less often negotiated by smaller companies..In this area..ITIS people have very good scope ....Since it is the new technology..U will have great demand..if you go to prod uct based comapnies like IBM,GOOGLE,YAHOO,SALESFORCE,MI CROSOFT..they will pay u high..but u have to be very good at programming... In TCS ..u dont find any programming.....In TCS..u r using only front end servic es...But backend is completly programming....That is y I mentioned ..like this i n my previous comment...as...to provide this services or to support thier servic es...TCS people only support the services.....that means..they wont use programm ing....the companies who re provinding the services will have to use programming ..otherwise how they will create a CLOUD for a respective organisation?...u tell me..So I am suggesting u people..If you want to shift to some other product bas ed companies....like IBM,yahoo,google,MICROSOFT..u have to be very good at progr amming...u have to learn that by urself.. 14.2->ITIS---3.IT SECURITY(related to Managed Security Services ) and Network AD MINISTRATOR.---I would like to tell about the role of ITIS people...here..Normal ly in TCS..for every project...EX..Take..BOA project(They will have nearly 5000 employees in TCS)..For these people Network admin will be there.(10 employees.(I TIS people will support)..They will track the record of unauthorised sites which will cause security threats...They will have the detaills of each employee comp uter related information...if any of the employee want to update any software... the employee should get the approval from network admin..this software wont caus e any damage...For locking and unlocking the PC..these people have the rights.. 14.3->ITIS---4.Network Management services---It is also related to network admin ...For every company network structure is the first priority...So,TCS people the y will call network giants such as Cisco, Alcatel-Lucent, and Avaya to provide t he network services in their offices...which inlcudes..Secured communication inf rastructure,Communication through any device, anywhere, anytime to improve produ ctivity and reduce communication costs,Bandwidth optimization and traffic consol idation over a single converged network...The role of ITIS is to support the net work failures...If you got an oppurtunity...u will get enough knowledge related to Network and u can easily to shift network comapnies such as CISCO,JUNIPER,Alc atel-Lucent, and Avaya..which will pay too high salries than OUR OFFSHORE COMPAN IES..... 15.After joining TCS..there is no comparision whether u r from IT or NON IT..All are equal in TCS..whether u came from IIT or BITS or MTECH or BTECH..nothing ma tter..only whether u r a performer or Non performer matters...they will give u r elevant trainings related to DEVELOPMENT,MAINTENANCE AND PRODUCTION SUPPORT...as KT(knowledge transition related to projects)..and then only they will allocate u in the project completly....So..dont worry...abou that... 16.ITIS..is very easy...No need to prepare for cloud computing technology also..

.because..outisde...u wont get this training like java,.net..Recently..some of t he institutes such as..NIIT,APTECH..launched this course..it is costly...also..t hey will teach both the front and back end...If you want to learn..u can go ahea d..But I prefer...No need.. 17.For every project.....For suppose..Take BANK OF AMERICA project(They will hav e 50 development sub projects,100 Maintenance subprojects,100 production support projects)....They cant allocate all the people into developement r maintenance r support...I told u in my previous comments..First MATC people will call u...ba sed on ur profile..they will ask u...to go to this BOA project and meet the resp ected project manager...Then the project manager will tell about the the project ..whether its is development r maintenance r support...If u r interested in that u can join..otherwise u can tell him frankly that i m not interested..that i m looking for development project r something else..Then the MATC people will send u for another projecct...until u get the project..MATC people will show u lot o f projects... 18.Dont do any certifiactions before joining TCS...after joining TCS..u have to do ceritifcations..regulalry for H1 and H2(half yearly)...If you complete the ce rtifications now..then after joining TCS ..u dont have anything left in ur kitty ..so please prepare for the certifications and once if you join TCS...then u pla n according to that....for H1 adn H2...if you want anything related to SCJP... 19..Trainees are like reserve to them...the reason y they will recruit trainees is for getting new projects....For getting new projects..the comapny people have to show their bench strength..that these many trainees are ready for the projec t...normally...in TCS...everymonth..some 30000 people will be on bench....They w ill allocate u in projects..when they got requirement...till then u will get ur salry..no work for u people..u can enjoy..

20.TCS will have good onsite oppurtunities..than any other outsourcing company.. .TCS will have good increments...based on rating...if u r a top performer..u wil l get 15-20% hike every year... 21.Salary hikes depends on company performance...If the company perfroms well in that year...for A BAND PEOPLE----average hike is 20-30%....B band people.....15 -20%...C band people.....10-15%...If recession r something else is there..there wont be salary hikes also....And if you change your designations from ASE TRAINE E-ASE or ASE-ITA or some promotion changs to new designations...belive me ..u wi ll get very good hikes...almost...30-40% hikes along with the yearly hike...For u people..After 1 year..u will get good hike...because u people will change from ASE TRAINEE-ASE along with yearly average hike(company performance hike)..After that..u will get promotion after 4 years...from ASE-ITA... 22.to answer your query...First u have to get in touch with MATC people...They w ill tell u..these are the projects that are available at present..if u r interes ted into that project..u can join...r if u r interested particularly to cloud co mputing.they will ask u to wait..until then u have to be on bench.During this pe riod..u can attend some training sessions...of ur choice....Learning new technol ogy..is ur choice...I got trained in JAVA,J2EE in ILP..then after coming to base branch..they gave SAP-ABAP training...and i worked on mainframes also...Now 1 y ear back i shifted to IBM..there i got a chance to work on SAP BI/BW..Now i am l earning SAP BOBJ..which is the latest technology..Now adays competition is more. .u have to learn N number of technologies..if you want to survive..In TCS..u can learn lot of technologies...u will have trainings for every quarter..U have to nominate for them...TCS is the best place for learning new technologies...

**23. Band structure for your performance and (salary Hikes) For every project ---They will have one curve fitting..project lead or Project m anager has to follow this rule.Based on this curve fitting only the will give th e ratings to you.For suppose,take a team that has 10 Employee Now see...How the project lead will fit the curve 10%----will get A band. 30%----will get B BAND 40-50%--will get C BAND 10-20%--WILL get D BAND SO IN A TEAM of 10... 10% Means---1 employee will get A BAND 30% Means---3 people will get B BAND 40-50% MEANS---4-5 will get C band. 10-20% means---1 or 2 will ge D band.. If you got 2 times D BAND means..tehy will ask you to leave the company... This band structure is not only for freshers,but for all the project leads,proje ctmangers,delivery managers...for everyone..they may also get D band..So..every phase is very important..Do your work honestly... They will give Bands...which are crucial for your salary hikes...based on this B ands only..ur salry hike will be judjed... 24..They will assign some goals to you....Goals like..How many certifications u have done this year,deliverables in ur project,trainings that u have taken,Team relations,What else other than project that u have done for TCS.,ur communicatio n.,new tools that u have developed...Lot of things..for every goal..they will gi ve a maximum of 5 points.... 25.After 5-6 years...I will tell u the positions....if You are top performer...C ontinuously..if u got 5 RATING(A BAND)...u will be a Project lead..You..pay wise ...will be around...9 lcas..if u r a top performer..If u r an average performer. .U may stay as a team member also..and ur package will be around..6.5 lacs... Dont worry..They will train you related to the project...They wont give u any as sigments...until u will get good knowledge on the related tech stuff...If ur rat ing is continuosly...B..u will be between 6.5-9 lacs..May be the salary will inc rease/decrease also..depending on the economic conditions... Q26.TCS has recruited around 37000 recruits in 2010-2011 batch , they are also r ecruiting in huge numbers now (Sources they they have planned to recruit 60,000 for this year ).. what do you think about it ? is it a good Sign ? my doubt is w ill an employee get affected if recession comes again ? A26.Not at all..To increase their bench strength..they will recruit...a lot of p eople..if you have enough bench strength...U will get more projects...So..Even t hough I am an IBMer...I have great respect towards TATA..trust...once after thei r commitment...they wont remove u..even during recession also..Until u dont perf orm welll...
