Woodruff Church of God e-Edition Newsletter June 19, 2012

Pastors Notes: Well, another Church of God Camp Meeting is in the books! I am going to be honest..Im physically tired, but Ive never been more full spiritually following a Camp Meeting. I probably missed more services than ever before. Before you get ready to fire me, let me explain. Pastor Manuel Sorto and 2 more Territorial Overseers from Guatemala were at Camp Meeting all week. I did my best to spend as much time with Pastor Manuel as I could. I also spent a lot of time with Rev. Isael Cordon and Rev. Nery Pas. What a blessing!!!!!! These men give tirelessly to minister to their pastors and their churches. They do without many times in order to see the pastors in their territory have food to eat. I was so blessed to honor them and treat them this week. I truly have a bond with these great men of God. I attended 2 Spanish services, one of which was a Spanish Camp Meeting. I wont go into details at this time but God is doing something spectacular!!!! Ill share more in the future, but Pastor Manuel spoke prophetically over me and our church several times while he was here. GOD IS ABOUT TO BLOW OUR MINDS!!!!!! I know its hard for you to understand what Im talking about because Ive not shared anything yet. However, I want to ask you a question that not only did Pastor Manuel ask me, but Rev. Nery Pas as well. Here is the question; what are prepared? I sat there in front of these great men of God and heard them talking about what God was about to do in the church and he asked me are you prepared? I dont know that Im prepared for what hes talking about, but I have such a desire to GET PREPARED!!!!! What I want to know is this is there anybody else that will believe the Word of the Lord and do whatever you have to do to get yourself ready and help the church get ready? If so, there are several things to begin to do: 1) REPENT.. the only true way we can be useable and be in a state of preparation is to begin with repenting. We must be covered by the blood of Christ and moving in the realm of holiness. 2) PRAY.. Ive learned this last week that prayer has the awesome power to move you from one spiritual level to another. Sometimes its not even what you say.. its just taking time to spend with HIM. You cant spend time with Him and remain the same. 3) DIVE INTO THE WORD.. I know many of us read the Word daily. Somehow we must go from simply reading the Word to check off that days reading assignment to reading that Word until it comes alive and vibrant to us. 4) BE AVAILABLE.. We must be able to say like Samuel, speak Lord, thou servant hearth Its one thing to say we want Gods Word to come true in our congregation.its another thing to be available for the Lord to make it happen.

God will do His part, but He has always chosen to use people. Im ready to do my partHOW ABOUT YOU? WHAT AN AWESOME FATHERS DAY!!!!!!! I know the service was totally different, but I truly believe what happened Sunday has already CHANGED our church! Men stood before a full house and made a covenant before their wives, their children, their family, their friends and their church. Most importantly, they made that covenant before GOD!!!! When we get men turned on to fulfilling their God given roles, WE ARE EXPERIENCING REVIVAL!!!!!! And to top it all off, another group of men stepped forward who were not able to go through the 1st set of Resolution classes and said they want to work through the resolutions. GLORY TO GOD!!!!!! Truly our future is bright and God is working to do great things in our church! Im so blessed to be your pastor!!!!!! Special thanks to JASON HAYES who is doing an incredible job leading our mens ministry, THE BAND OF BROTHERS!!!!!! Im so thankful for his passion for his family and for the men of our church. If you arent attending the monthly Band of Brothers meetings, there is no time like the present. We have a great time of food, fellowship, study of the Word, projects, etc. Wed love for you to join with us. Band of Brothers meets every 1st Thursday of the Month. There will be a special offering taken this Sunday morning for the Jamaican Missions Trip. That trip is just around the corner. Please prayerfully consider what you should give as we continue our relationship with Pastor Winston Bell and the Bannister New Testament Church of God. The Woodruff Ministerial Association and area churches are working together on a project to aid District 4 students and parents with school supplies for next school year. This project is called GREAT START WOODRUFF. District 4 is allowing us to hold this event on their campus but in doing so, we must provide for all students. This is a mammoth undertaking, yet God has already begun working miracles. 2000 back packs have been donated to this cause!!!!! Several church are put together to work on a few of the items. Our items are: 1) 1,900 packs of #2 pencils, 2) 875 pencil sharpeners with covers, 3) 300 pencil pouches with 3 holes, 4) 500 pens (blue/black). Ive asked our ministries to be involved but I want you to be involved as well. There will be a box in the lobby for you to place your items in. Together, we can make this event a huge success. On that day, there will be free haircuts given, a prayer tent to provide prayer for any person or family that wants prayer. Each book bag will also have a copy of the Word of God in it. This is a huge opportunity for our churches in Woodruff to impact our community. Please help us in this endeavor!!! Thank You!!! Its church directory time again! We will be doing an updated Church Pictorial Directory. Pictures will be taken the 2nd and 3rd week of August and sign-ups will begin next week. In the mean time, please email Andrea at the church office (wcog@woodruffcog.org) with your updated address, phone number and email address. Also, we will be looking for smiling faces who would be willing to greet/host one of the sessions. Please make plans to be a part. We want a true glimpse of our church, and without you, a piece is missing. Look for more information in the coming weeks.
