Chapter 30: HAARP Officially, High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program or HAARP is a research station directed by the

Air Force Research Laboratory's Space Vehicles Directorate in Gakona, Alaska. Its an ionospheric research program jointly funded by the US Air Force, the US Navy, the University of Alaska and DARPA. It opened in 1992 to gather data about the atmosphere and "radio propagation conditions." Their web site www.haarp.alaska.edu states that they are monitoring and archiving the naturally occurring variations with the sun's activities such as sunspots and solar flares. HAARP constitutes a system of powerful antennas capable of creating "controlled local modifications of the ionosphere." However, there seems to be much more going on behind HAARP's public face. In his underground bestseller Angels Dont Play This HAARP, author Nick Begich summarizes the evidence that suggests HAARP is involved in weather control for nefarious purposes. THE IDEA FOR HAARP BASED ON TESLA TECHNOLOGY HAARP is based on physicist Bernard J. Eastlund's U.S. Patent from 1987 titled "Method and Apparatus for Altering a Region in the Earth's Atmosphere, Ionosphere, and/or Magnetosphere" US #4,686,605. Eastlund's patent is based, in part, on the works of Nikola Tesla, who first suggested that RF could transmit approximately one watt per cubic centimeter to any point on the planet without the use of wires. Thus, power can generated on the ground and then sent through the air to the upper areas of the atmosphere miles above the surface of the planet. Eastlund explained in his patent application that by influencing the ionosphere, methods of communication disruption, missile shielding and weather modification are possible. His second patent described the reflection of a second signal, using a previously "heated" ionospheric bulge, to distant locations on the Earth's surface. Eastlund had been working with the Atlantic Richfield Company, holders of a massive reserve of natural gas under Alaska's North Slope. ARCO bought Eastlund's first two patents with the

understanding that this new technology would make it possible for their natural gas reserves, too expensive to be piped from Alaska, to be converted to electrical energy on the north slope, and then bounced off the heated ionosphere to customers in remote locations around the globe. Because Eastlund's "heaters" could elevate the Earth's ionosphere, his discovery provided the ability to control weather by altering upper atmosphere wind patterns. This is done by focusing high frequency radio transmissions on the ionosphere, lifting and heating it in localized areas which then alters wind patterns and ultimately weather conditions. Unfortunately, the military had purchased Eastlund's two patents from ARCO and had given them to Raytheon, a military contractor. So there would be no civilian use for this new technology. A BRIEF HISTORY OF EVENTS & DISCOVERIES 1886-8: Nikola Tesla invents system of Alternating Current power source and transmission system. As 60-pulse-per-second (hertz) AC power grids spread over the land, Mom Earth will eventually dance to a different beat than her usual 7-8 hertz frequency. 1900: Tesla applies for patent on a device to transmit Electrical Energy Through the Natural Mediums". 1905: U.S. Patent #787,412 issued for above 1924: Confirmation that radio waves bounce off ionosphere (electrically-charged layer starting at altitude of 50 kilometers). 1938: Scientist proposes to light up night sky by electron gyrotron heating from a powerful transmitter. 1940: Tesla announces "death ray" invention. 1945: Atomic bomb tests begin 40,000 electromagnetic pulses to follow. 1952: W.O. Schumann identifies 7.83 hertz resonant frequency of the earth. 1958: Van Allen radiation belts discovered (zones of charged particles trapped in earths magnetic field) 2,000+ miles up. Violently disrupted in the same year. 1958: Project Argus, U.S. Navy explodes 3 nuclear bombs in Van Allen belt. 1958: White House advisor on weather modification says Defense Dept. studying ways to manipulate charges "of earth and sky, and so affect the weather 1960: Series of weather disasters begin. 1961?: Copper needles dumped into ionosphere as "telecommunications shield". 1961: Scientists propose artificial ion cloud experiments. In 1960s the dumping of chemicals (barium powder etc.) from satellites/rockets began. 1961-62: Soviets and USA blast many EMPs in atmosphere, 300 megatons of nuclear devices deplete ozone layer by about 4%. 1962: Launch of Canadian satellites & start of stimulating plasma resonances by antennas within the space plasma.6 1966: Gordon J. F. MacDonald publishes military ideas on environmental engineering. 1960s: In Wisconsin, US Navy Project Sanguine lays ELF antennae. 1968: Moscow scientists tell the West that Soviets pinpointed which pulsed magnetic field frequencies help mental & physiological functions and which do harm. 1972: First reports on "ionospheric heater" experiments with high frequency radio waves, at Arecibo. 100-megawatt heater in Norway built later in decade; can change conductivity of auroral ionosphere. 1973: Documentation that launch of Skylab `halved the total electron content of the ionosphere for three hours" (by rocket exhaust gases).

 1973: Recommendations for study of Project Sanguines biological effects denied by Navy. 1974: United Nations General Assembly bans environmental warfare. 1974: High-frequency experiments at Plattesville, Colorado; Arecibo, Puerto Rico; and, Armidale, New South Wales heat "bottom side of ionosphere". 1974: Experiments airglow brightened by hitting oxygen atoms in ionosphere with accelerated electrons. 1975: Stanford professor Robert Helliwell reports that VLF from power lines is altering the ionosphere. 1975: U. S. Senator Gaylord Nelson forces Navy to release research showing that ELF transmissions can alter human blood chemistry. 1975: Pell Senate Subcommittee urges that weather & climate modification work be overseen by civilian agency answerable to U.S. Congress. Didnt happen. 1975: Soviets begin pulsing "Woodpecker" ELF waves, at key brainwave rhythms. Eugene, Oregon, one of locations where people were particularly affected. 1976: Drs. Susan Bawin & W. Ross Adey show nerve cells affected by ELF fields.s 1979: Launch of NASAs third High-Energy Astrophysical Observatory causes largescale, artificially-induced depletion in the ionosphere. Eastlund applies for patent "Method and Apparatus for Altering a Region in the Earths Atmosphere, ionosphere and/or Magnetosphere, (First of 3 Eastlund patents assigned to ARCO Power Technologies Inc.) 1986: US Navy Project Henhouse duplicates Delgado (Madrid) experiment -- very lowlevel, very-low-frequency pulsed magnetic fields harm chick embryos. 20 1980s: In the later part of the decade the U.S. begins network of Ground Wave Emergency Network (GWEN) towers, each to generate Very Low Frequency (VLF) waves for defense purposes . 1987-92: Other APTI scientists build on Eastlund patents for development of new weapon capabilities. 1994: Military contractor E-Systems buys APTI, holder of Eastlund patents and contract to build biggest ionospheric heater in world (HAARP). 1994: Congress freezes funding on HAARP until planners increased emphasis on earthpenetrating tomography uses, for nuclear counter proliferation efforts. 1995: Raytheon buys E-Systems and old APTI patents. The technology is now hidden among thousands of patents within one of the largest defense contractor portfolios. 1995: Congress budgets $10 million for 1996 under "nuclear counterproliferation" efforts for HAARP project. 1995: HAARP planners to test patent number 5,041,834 in September. 1994-6: Testing of first-stage HAARP (euphemistically named High frequency Active Auroral Research Program) equipment continues, although funding was frozen. 1996: HAARP planners to test the earth-penetrating tomography applications by modulating the electrojet at Extremely Low Frequencies 1998: Projected date for fully-operating HAARP system. WHAT HAARP COULD BE USED FOR Today, HAARP has 180 antennas and broadcasts up to 3.6 megawatts of power. Even that is short of the thousands of antennas and hundreds of megawatts of power that Eastlund figures would be needed to control the weather or act as an effective missile shield. However, even at

3.6 megawatts, significant weather control experiments could be performed. In fact, radio operators who routinely monitor HAARP transmissions have noted an increase in RF output from the station right before hurricanes Katrina and Rita grew into dangerous storms. Though there is no proof that the ferocity of these recent hurricanes are the result of climatic tampering by the HAARP administration, Phillips Geophysics Lab, which is a partner in the HAARP project, contemplates the triggering of storms and hurricanes for military use in a course for military personnel at MD's Hanscom Air Force Base, on weather modification techniques. Even if the HAARP program is experimenting with weather control, ground-based weather control could soon be surpassed by theoretical solar powered satellite-based systems with a possible power output of 1,000 megawatts. NASA, and the European Space Agency has been researching the possibility of such satellites being used as an energy source, transmitting power to Earth with concentrated beams of microwaves. With a fleet of these powerful satellites using the same RF principals used by HAARP, it is conceivable that the weather over any geographic location could be modified at will. THE ALASKAN DEATH RAY It has been alleged that the HAARP facility, located near Gakona, Alaska, is not the "real" HAARP project, and that the actual HAARP is conducting experiments that seem beyond the realm of possibility. Writer Dan Eden, of the Viewzone website, recently revealed that in 1998 he was shown a secret HAARP facility near Fairbanks, Alaska. Eden was invited to come to Alaska by two men, Dave and Jonas, who had been recently discharged from the Navy. Eden was taken by his hosts to a small Alaskan town called Fox. From there they took snowmobiles east along the Chatinaka River where they encountered military "Restricted Area" signs. From the vantage point on top of a ridge, Eden was shown an enormous area below them that was covered with rows and rows of metal poles - antennae and small silver rectangular sheds where black cables originated. The entire area was at least a mile square and the number of antennae must have been in the thousands. Eden was told that this was a phased array, and that this was a type of antenna where the signal being sent out could be focused to a very narrow beam - like a laser - and that it was capable of emitting a signal that was billions of watts in power. At one point Eden questioned why an antenna system would be buried between such high ridges. "Wouldn't that interfere with the signal?" "Not if you're sending it straight up," he was told. They explained that this energy was used to heat a layer of the atmosphere, to cause it to bend and thicken, and that it would then be ready for the "death ray." Eastlund's discovery had been taken by the military during the cold war era because it allowed microwave signals to be sent and received beyond the horizon. This fact alone allowed them to prevent its development in any humane or commercial application since it would then be available to enemy nations. But once the heater had created a sort of lens in the ionosphere, you did not have to limit your signal to radar or microwaves. Eastlund had developed the ability to send massive bursts of power - in the billions of watts range - and these could now be zapped to just about any point of the Earth.

"HAARP in Gakona, about 300 miles south of here, that's a fake decoy for the public. Everyone knows about that," Dave told Eden. "They even have a website with one of those instant cam things and a few dozen antennae. That's just a thing for show so they can say that it's all harmless and open." STRANGE WEATHER Several years later, in 1999, Dan Eden received emails from a reader in Serbia, where the UN forces had been fighting Milosevic, mostly with American armed forces and equipment. The emails mentioned a strange phenomenon that accompanied attacks by the U.S. A-10, "warthog" fighter jet. It was reported that, just prior to an air attack, the sky often filled with huge black clouds that would materialized out of nowhere, and stayed until the end of the campaign -which was usually couple of weeks. However, instead of rain, falling on Belgrade, there were hailstones the size of eggs. "You can still see the marks it left on houses." During that time witnesses described strange "lighting" in the sky that lasted for hours which didn't look like anything anybody had ever seen before. The "thunder" that accompanied the strange "lightning" was equally strange. It was hundreds of times stronger than any thunder anybody ever remembered. It was so loud that it was even louder then the sound of bomb explosions. As well, scientists in Serbia released a report that stated that the electromagnetic field over Serbia was punctured. The "hole" was almost the size of Serbia itself and it started at the border, between Kosovo and Albania in the south, and ended near the Yugoslav and Hungarian border in the north. There are also reports of bizarre weather over Iraq during the U.S. invasion in 2004. It seems obvious that HAARP is being used to manipulate the weather all over the planet. The Washington Post reported that a growing number of physicists and others in the scientific community are becoming increasingly worried. A "small group of American physicists, some of whom have aired complaints in scientific journals, fear HAARP may not simply be the simple research experiment that advocates describe, but possibly phase one of a secret U.S. military program that could be seeking ways to blow other countries' spacecraft out of the sky or disrupt communications over large portions of the planet." Richard Williams, a physicist and consultant to the David Sarnoff laboratory in Princeton alleges HAARP constitutes "an irresponsible act of global vandalism." He and others fear a secret second stage where HAARP would "beam much more energy into the ionosphere. That could produce a severe disruption of the upper atmosphere at one location that may produce effects that spread rapidly around the Earth for years." Documents acquired from the Office of Naval Research via the Freedom Of Information Act reveal a more ominous purpose for HAARP. According to these documents, the U.S. military believes the former Soviet Union has similar heaters with which they claim to have achieved higher levels of ionospheric reaction than possible so far in the "West". Although smaller in size

than the secret HAARP project, there are many other ground based transmitting heaters in operation around the world; Tromso, Australia, Norway and Arecibo, Puerto Rico among them. Michel Chossudovsky, professor of economics at the University of Ottawa and Director of the Center for Research on Globalization, says that: "There are very clear statements by the U.S. Air Force to the effect that weather modification technology is available, HAARP is fully operational and could be used in actual military situations. It is clear that weather warfare does constitute an instrument of the Air Force, they even identify the scenarios of its use." Can these heaters already be changing the weather, and have they somehow contributed to the recent climate-based catastrophes in the U.S? How many humans have contracted cancers and other illnesses that might have remained dormant if not triggered by these transmissions? Recently various independent scientific reports have been published over the internet. The Magnetometer readings for various dates and times for recent earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and tsunamis have been presented. Incredible anomalies can be witnessed in these readings. Ironically the source for the reading is the HAARP website itself. Though it's worth noting a very unusual deletion was observed in the archived data of HAARP instrument readings from the day before the Haiti earthquake! The Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez held a press conference and claimed Haitian Earthquake was caused by HAARP Weapon and that the earthquake was not a natural one. Above is a time-frequency spectrogram, which shows the frequency content of signals recorded by the HAARP Induction Magnetometer. This instrument, provided by the University of Tokyo, measures temporal variations in the geomagnetic field (Earths magnetosphere) in the ULF (ultra-low frequency) range of 0-5 Hz. Notions have been added to the image to show what was happening the day the Japan earthquake and tsunami struck. By looking at the accompanying HAARP spectrum chart above you can see when the 9.0 magnitude earthquake struck red line drawn vertically and what was happening before and after the earthquake. What you can also see is a constant ULF frequency of 2.5 Hz being recorded by the magnetometer. The ULF 2.5 Hz frequency is evidence of an induced earthquake. The chart recorded this constant before, during and after the 9.0 magnitude earthquake struck. On March 11, 2011 the 2.5 Hz ULF frequency was being emitted and recorded from 0:00 hours to about 10:00 hours or for 10 hours. We know for a fact that the Japan earthquake lasted only a few minutes so why was the earthquake signature frequency (2.5 Hz) being recorded for 10 hours on the morning of March 11, 2011? Because a HAARP phased array antenna system was broadcasting (transmitting) the 2.5Hz ULF frequency and it triggered the Japan earthquake and ensuing tsunami. What is the significance of a 2.5 Hz ULF broadcast? The natural resonance of an earthquake is 2.5 Hz. Scientists working for the United States military discovered this using the phased array antennas at the HAARP facility in Alaska. The HAARP magnetometer data provides proof that the Japan earthquake was not a naturally occurring quake it was triggered. This data shows us that a HAARP military installation was broadcasting the known earthquake signature frequency in order to trigger a major earthquake. The broadcast was most likely being transmitted from a floating HAARP system like the floating Sea-Based X-Band Radar platform that can be moved anywhere in the Pacific or Atlantic ocean under the protection of a carrier strike group like the USS Ronald Regan. Where was the USS Ronald Reagan on the morning of March 11, 2011? According to a Stars & Stripes March 9, 2011 report Reagan carrier group steams toward South Korea to join exercise. Evidence? The below image is of the HAARP Sea-Based X-Band Radar (SBX) platform which supposedly does not exist. The preceding link is to the United States Navy website. What is sitting on top of the deck of the SBX is a phased array antenna a key component of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) GMD system.

The military vessel includes power plant, a bridge, control rooms, living quarters, storage areas and the infrastructure necessary to support the massive X-band radar. The SBX radar is the most sophisticated phased array, electro-mechanically steered X-band radar in the world according to Boeing claims. The phased array antenna consists of thousands of antennas driven by transmit/receive modules. The radar is designed and built by Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems for Boeing, the prime contractor on the project for the United States Missile Defense Agency (MDA). Boeing, Raytheon and MDA. Weather modification expert Ben Livingston, a former Navy Physicist who briefed President Lyndon B. Johnson on the effectiveness of weather control back in the 1960s during the Vietnam era, has documented that as far back as the early 1950s the United States was funneling money into programs aimed at using the weather as a weapon during the cold war. Moreover, in an April 1997 speech to the University of Georgia, Athens, then US Secretary of Defense William Cohen spoke of the threat of an eco-type of terrorism whereby they can alter the climate, set off earthquakes, volcanoes remotely through the use of electromagnetic waves. According to Gen. Gordon Sullivan, former Army chief of staff, As we leap with technology into the 21st century, we will be able to see the enemy day or night, in any weather and go after him relentlessly.A global, precise, real-time, robust, systematic weather-modification capability would provide warfighting CINCs with a powerful force multiplier to achieve military objectives. Since weather will be common to all possible futures, a weather-modification capability would be universally applicable and have utility across the entire spectrum of conflict. The capability of influencing the weather even on a small scale could change it from a force degrader to a force

multiplier.
