Learning Objectives for Part A (The Secondary Source, Observation Part) 1. The student should acquaint himself with the industry and different companies in that industry. Understand the past, present and future trends and challenges in the industry. (INDUSTRY PROFILE) (First week) 2. The student should acquaint himself with the company in which he/she is given to work. The learning areas would be the Vision, Mission, Values and Business Processes of the company. (COMPANY PROFILE) (First Week) 3. The Students Should visit various departments ( like administrative and operations departments) to understand in general the Objectives, Hierarchy, operations process, data flow, communication patterns and performance of individual departments. Understand the inter-departmental relationships and dependencies. (DEPARTMENTAL DETAILS) (Second week) 4. From the above understanding of the departments the student must be able to identify the gaps in the areas to work upon for improving their performance and this would be basis for further work to be carried in detail. If the company helps to find the gaps and entrusts the student, the student should work on those gaps. The student should be able to list out these gaps in this report.(Third week) Learning Objective for Part B (The Primary Source, Research Part) 1. Identify the gaps and formulate the problem with objectives to find out various solutions to achieve the same (This should be done in consultation with the guide in company and college also) (Fourth week onwards) 2. State the hypothesis if any, research design, primary and secondary sources of data can be used and application of statistic 3. Data analysis, Findings and Suggestions have to be done carefully. 4. Your defined objectives of the study, your approach to solve and your plan for identifying solutions and your Questionnaires, if any should be approved by your academic and corporate guides before you proceed further. PROGRESS REPORT OF INDUSTRY TRAINING and REPORT PREPARATION Each student is expected to record his/her progress everyday in a notebook where in he/she needs to keep the report of the his/her work done in the company / in the field . The respective company guides need to sign the daily report at least on a weekly basis. This diary needs to be periodically shown to corporate guide and obtain his concurrence on the progress of the project. Then, it should be signed by Faculty Guide and it has to be submitted to the examination department at the end of IIP. The Industry training should be carried on for a period of eight weeks. For any deviations from this, prior permission should to be taken from the placement department writing. The evaluation of Project consists of three components viz., The Industry Internship Report has a total of 100 marks allotted to it. There will be a presentation and viva carrying 40marks. The Project report will be evaluated for 60 marks. The entire activity i.e., planning and conduct of pre-submission presentations, receipt and evaluation of Project Reports and conduct of Viva-Voce/ should go as per plans. The students have to submit one hard copy of a draft report within one week of the college reopening. This is to give the faculty guide ample time to help and guide students. Any student who fails to submit will have to take the Industry training project as a backlog after the Sixth trimester. (Date of Viva Voce will be intimated)

IIP GUIDELINES 2011 1. ABSTRACT Marks : 10 Marks Title of the Project Objectives Methodology 1000 words Note: - After 2 weeks (on 19/ 06/2012) a detailed report has to be submitted. One hard copy and one soft copy to be sent to respective Faculty Guides/ Placement Department. INTERIM PRESENTATION Marks: 20 Marks The student should come prepared with detailed report of the following details given below: Title of the Project Objectives Methodology Detailed Report Rough Draft should be submitted by 11th June 2012.
