Vale Inco Copper Cliff, ON. June 28,2012
Dear Sir/Madam: From the Service Canada job bank website, I learned of your need for a Smelter Labourer . I am very interested in this position with Vale Inco and believe my heavy industry experience combined with my education is appropriate and would be a good fit. As you will note in my resume, from my past work experience, I familiar with heavy industry as I have been employed in heavy industry most of my life. By your posting, you indicate that you expect a laborer who is capable of working both safely and as efficiently as possible. While I was employed at the paper mill in Smooth Rock Falls, I had a variety of jobs. I loaded box cars with a forklift on the production line, worked in the mill store, and the lab. These tasks were a part of my job specs along with any and all work that was assigned to me in the laborer pool. Being punctual, reliable and trustworthy was one of my strengths and I exploited this strength to do the jobs assigned to me to the best of my ability. This ability also proved invaluable in troubleshooting within the steam plant. When I left the papermill, I was given an unexpected and excellent letter of recommendation by one of the most demanding supervisors within the plant. I continuously maintained a strong work ethic and have always been a person who can be relied on. I have been employed for more than 10 years in the heavy industry sector which ranged from automotive to paper mill. My job titles varied and I was employed not only in the labour pool but also worked in the lab and offices as well. One summer, a road construction company hired me to operate a packer and I also assisted in many carpentry and construction projects as a helper. As you can see, I am familiar with industrialized manufacturing in many different forms and believe I would be a great asset to your organization. I was enrolled at Cambrian College in Graphic Design but chose to withdraw after one semester and enrolled in the Medical Office Administration program instead. I graduated from the Medical Office Administration program at Everest College in March of 2012. Currently, I have my WHMIS, Norcat and First Aid certificate as well as a clean CPIC. I would welcome the opportunity of an interview for this position or to talk with you concerning other possible prospects within your company. I will also follow up with a telephone call in one weeks time to see if you have received my email and will be glad to answer any questions you might have. You may reach me at (705)586-7036 or 705-560-3478. Feel free to leave a message and I will return your call promptly. You can also reach me by email at darlene.j@hotmail.com.

Sincerely, Darlene Jacques
