Requriements An altar or surface to work from 2, tall candles (one white/silver to represent the female the other dark/gold

for the male) 4 small T lite candles for the four quarters, matches or lighter salt in a small dish water in a small dish an athame or wand A bell anointing oil that you can make yourself from corn oil and essential oil When you have gathered together all the items that you are going to use and you have prepared your self and your surroundings you may move on to the next step. Four small white candles should be placed at each corner of your room starting at the East, (element of air) then the South (fire) then the West, (water) and then the North (element of earth). If you are unsure of the directions and do not have a compass then remember that the sun rises in the east and sets in the west. If you are still unsure then place your East candle to your left as you enter your room. Sit or kneel comfortably in front of your table or altar. Close your eyes and as you breathe in, picture positive white light energy filling your body. As you breathe out, breathe away all negative energy. After some minutes, you will feel all tension flowing away from your mind and body. Allow pure light energy to flow into and through your entire body filling your sacred space, filling your room. When you are completely relaxed stand up and move quietly to the east quarter of your room. Ring a bell three times or use chimes if you have them to signal the start of your ceremony Starting with the east to the south, the west, and the north, light the four T Lite candles. Return to the centre and begin to cast the circle line using your wand athame sword or finger. (if for any reason you have to leave your circle symbolically cut the shape of a doorway in the circle line. Starting at the east and saying "This circle line I now prepare Let no one enter should they dare This sacred space I dedicate Filled with love and never hate So mote it be" Now take a smudge stick or incense stick, light it and allow the smoke to develop and begin to walk round the perimeter of your circle blessing each quarter with the element of Air. Hail to the East Element of Air Hail to the South Element of Fire Hail to the West Element of Water Hail to the North Element of Earth Return to the centre, light the altar candles and take the candle which symbolises the Goddess (the female) to the east walking clockwise (deosil) round the perimeter of your circle. As you go bless each quarter with appropriate words of your choice or repeat Hails above. Return to the centre and take 3 pinches of salt and add them to your dish of water. Raise your dominant hand high above you and feel the energy of the Goddess. When you feel ready put your index finger into the water stirring clockwise as you say "Salt is life here is life Sacred be without strife, Salt is life here is life Sacred be without strife, Salt is life here is life blessed be without strife." Take your dish of consecrated water and move to the east walking round your circle clockwise and sprinkling the consecrated water as you go while saying appropriate words of your choice or repeat Hails above

Move to the east and begin to sprinkle a little salt round the perimeter of your circle saying the appropriate words of your choice or repeat Hails above Move quietly back to your workspace replace the dish of salt and ring the bell three times. Raise your arms high above your head and say. Light both candles (the male and female) I call upon the Guardians of the four watchtowers. May they stand in strength ever watchful over my circle Starting at the east make the sign of the pentacle saying

"Hail Guardian of the East come bless my space with light and air"
Then the south:

"Hail Guardian of the South come bless my space with light and fire"
Then the west:

"Hail Guardian of the West come bless my space with light and water"
Then the North "

"Hail Guardian of the north come bless my space with light and earth"
Make the sign of the pentacle above your head and on the ground in front of you. Raise your arms high above your head and say I call upon the Lord and the Lady To enter into this sacred space and witness my rite Return to your altar and take your white candle - Raise it high and say By candle light I make my vow The Old Ways forever from now It is my will for all to see Let it harm none so mote it be!" "Before the God and Goddess, I (your name), henceforth to be known as (your craft name), within the circle of the wise to symbolise my rebirth. I pledge to honour the God and the Goddess in all areas of my life. I will work in harmony with the energies of the Earth, showing respect for Plant, Animal, Spirit, and Man, striving always for unity and balance. I will honour and respect my brothers and sisters in the Craft even when our paths do not join. I will respect and keep the Old Ways and the Wiccan Rede. So mote it be." Take your anointing oil and put a little on your index finger and make the sign of the pentacle on your forehead, on your throat, on your heart and on the palms of both hands. Spend some time meditating on your life and the changes that you are making when you are finished you may close your circle saying "This circle is now closed, yet the work goes on I thank the Lord and The Lady for witnessing my rite, may the energies gathered here disperse and return to the earth" Extinguish the East candle saying "Take for your use any powers of air that have not been used" Repeat for each element Ceremony is now complete and you can gather your magickal tools and put them somewhere safe
