PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
LUNDS INSTITUE OF TECHNOLOGY (LTH), SWEDEN (April. 2011-Nov. 2011) as Project Assistant Participated in a larger research project exploring the use of large number of base station antennas (> 30 antenna elements). My work focused on the study of theoretical foundations of large MIMO systems. Quantify to what extent the asymptotic, information-theoretical large-array results are valid in typical propagation environments. Tools: Matlab
VODAFONE MOBILE COMMUNICATIONS CHAIR, DRESDEN UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY, GERMANY (Sep. 2010-Jan. 2011) as Research Assistant Worked on tuple-search based MIMO sphere detection algorithms for 4G (3GPP LTE/LTE advanced) terminals. It was aimed towards improving the efficiency of algorithm implementation in floating point with Apriori information in terms of detection speed/performance, adaptability under varying channel conditions and better hardware implementation. Tools: C, Matlab
PAKISTAN TELECOMMUNICATION COMPANY LIMITED (PTCL), PAKISTAN (2004-2008) as Engineer Operation & Maintenance Centre (OMC) Major Responsibilities: Operation and maintenance of Siemens EWSD and ZTE ZXJ10 Fixed Line telephone switches Alarm monitoring & handling Network Planning Hardware & software troubleshooting Preventive & corrective maintenance Coordination with vendor to localize and remove the faults Traffic monitoring and analysis
Inter-operator connectivity issues Charging database handling Major Projects: Installation and commissioning of CDMA2000 Based Wireless Local Loop BTS sites in PTCL Mobile Number Portability and STP connectivity in PTCL network
PROFESSIONAL TRAININGS:

MASTER'S THESIS:
Optimization of Advanced MIMO Tuple-Search Based Sphere Detectors The thesis was carried out at Vodafone Mobile Communication Chair at Dresden University of Technology, Germany. The work was part of project 4G Terminals MIMO Detectors for LTE Advanced. Checked existing floating point, fixed point and processor model implementations with no Apriori information for flexibility with respect to different QAM constellation sizes, MIMO system sizes, and variable detection accuracy Performed required modifications to the implementations to handle such flexibility Speed up the processor model implementation by increasing parallelism Tools: C++, SystemC, XML, Matlab, Visio, Latex
