SUFFERING ASTRID NETHERISER

Bruno Janiszewski 07.07.2012

The Quest of the Holy Grail, the Search for the Stone of the Philosophersby whatever name we choose to call the Great Workis therefore endless. Success only opens up new avenues of brilliant possibility. Yea, verily, and Amen! the task is tireless and its joys without bounds; for the whole Universe, and all that in it is, what is it but the infinite playground of the Crowned and Conquering Child, of the insatiable, the innocent, the ever-rejoicing Heir of Space and Eternity, whose name is MAN?

Aleister Crowley, Little Essays Toward Truth

Let not this trouble you, Momus, said Isis, since fate has ordained a vicissitude of darkness and light. But the worst of it is, said Momus, that they hold it for certain that they are in the light. And Isis replied that darkness would not be darkness to them, if they knew it. Giordano Bruno, Spaccio della bestia trionfante

Netherisers intimations:

I Everyone has their own personal truth that happened already in the past. This Truth is revealed for the first time at the moment the individual comes to life. His bond with the Absolute is close and strong then. Yet with age, by degrees, the said relation starts to disperse. He forgets about it, drifting apart from the moment when the Absolute was at its greatest and purest form. Increasingly, his ability to unravel his own mystery of life by retaining communion with the One starts to vanish. He can, however, regain his contact with the Eternal Light. This can be achieved by seeking for the vestiges of the divine that are present within the places his soul was particularly entwined with during his childhood, for instance. Thus, by means of contemplation on those places and on particular moments of epiphany that took place within their framework, one can restore his connection to the Truth and feel immortal. Those moments of epiphany were experienced either unconsciously or consciously, and they are later fully realised by spiritual involvement towards the individuals memories.

II Our understanding of the Absolute is suppressed by different conceptions which make us think of it as a personified law-giver and judge. The pantheistic perspective, on the other hand, which consists in perceiving the Absolute holistically as the One who can be described by each element which our reality consists of, gives us a deeper comprehension of its extension, that is infinity, within our mind. Moreover, it is useless to attach any characteristics such as good or bad to the Absolute, for he falls out of such simplistic classifications. It just is and reaches beyond any human principles. We should constantly seek for different perspectives and for a means by which we could mount up to the next perspectives being set higher than the previous ones. Thus, we will be able to ascend higher and higher towards the Absolute. Yet it is important to be conscious of that that the Great Work is hence endless and everevolving.

Alone and devious from afar he came; And, with a sudden influx overpowered At sight of this seclusion, he forgot His haste, for hasty had his footsteps been As boyish his pursuits; and sighing said, "What happy fortune were it here to live! And, if a thought of dying, if a thought Of mortal separation, could intrude With paradise before him, here to die!" William Wordsworth, The Recluse
