AJAX

Ajax (an acronym for asynchronous JavaScript and XML)is a group of interrelated web development methods used on the client-side to create interactive web applications. With Ajax, web applications can send data to, and retrieve data from, a server asynchronously (in the background) without interfering with the display and behavior of the existing page. Ajax uses a combination of HTML and CSS to mark up and style information. The DOM is accessed with JavaScript to dynamically display, and to allow the user to interact with the information presented. The term Ajax was coined on February 18, 2005 by Jesse James Garrett in an article entitled "Ajax: A New Approach to Web Applications"

It was founded in 1996[2] as "Rediff On The NeT" and is headquartered in Mumbai, India with offices in New Delhi and New York City, USA. Rediff.com was the first website domain name registered in India in 1996. Rediff recently launched an AJAX based mail interface. Rediff Mail also allows users to send and receive mails in many Indian languages on Microsoft Windows Rediffmail is also available on mobiles through the free mobile application. In October 2010, Rediff.com launched a paid mobile email service named `Rediffmail NG' with support for all mobile phone platforms On April 26th 2011, Rediff launched new service, group deals, named Rediff Deal Ho Jaye!The service, essentially, offers consumers local services in about 40 cities across India at discounts that range from 30 per cent to 60 per cent on any deals that they avail of.

 When the NASDAQ stock exchange began trading on February 8, 1971, it was the world's first electronic stock market. At first, it was merely a computer bulletin board system and did not actually connect buyers and sellers "NASDAQ" originally stood for "National Association of Securities Dealers Automated Quotations NASDAQ has a pre-market session from 7:00am to 9:30am, a normal trading session from 9:30am to 4:00pm and a post-market session from 4:00pm to 8:00pm

Twitter was created in March 2006 by Jack Dorsey and launched in July of that year. Twitter rapidly gained worldwide popularity, with 200 million users as of 2011, generating over 200 million tweets and handling over 1.6 billion search queries per day. It is sometimes described as the "SMS of the Internet. Twitter Inc., the company that operates the service and associated website, is based in San Francisco, California, with additional servers and offices in San Antonio, Texas, Boston, Massachusetts, and New York, New York.

The original project code name for the service was twttr, an idea that Williams later ascribed to Noah Glass, inspired by Flickr and the five-character length of American SMS short codes.
The developers initially considered "10958" as a short code, but later changed it to "40404" for "ease of use and memorability. Work on the project started on March 21, 2006, when Dorsey published the first Twitter message at 9:50 PM Pacific Standard Time (PST): "just setting up my twttr".[

 December 17, 2009 A hacking attack replaced the website's welcoming screen with an image of a green flag and the caption "This site has been hacked by Iranian Cyber Army" for nearly an hour. No connection between the hackers and Iran has been established.
