Electric Switch
It is a control consisting of a mechanical or electrical or electronic device for making or breaking or changing the connections in a circuit.
Types Of Switches
On the basis of ampere there are two types of switches available in market for domestic purpose: 5/6 Amp Switches: It is used for domestic low loading appliances such as tv, table fan, charging etc. 15/16 Amp Switches: This is used for heavy loading appliances such as A/C, Refrigerator, washing machine, gyeser, oven, iron, heater etc.

15 Amp Switches

Modular Switches
MECHANICAL SWITCHES
ROCKER SWITCH: It is an ordinary light switch. It has two positions on or off. PUSH SWITCHES: This is a switch one push to activate TOGGLE SWITCHES: Toggle (handle) moves or swings to make or break the circuit. SLIDE SWITCHES: A slider moves linearly (slides) from position to position LIMIT SWITCH/ MICROSWITCH: It is used to limit something. It has a lever coming out of it that is easily pressed, e.g. by a gate opening or by a closed lid touching it.
The three legs on a micro switch are: NC Normally Closed NO Normally Open COM - Common
ELECTRICAL SWITCHES
Push To Break Switch: Current flows normally, but not when the button Is pushed Push To Make Switch: Current flows normally, but not when the button is pushed
SPST Switch (Single Pole Single Throw): It is used for on/off operation and have only one switch and one way to make a connection, e.g. a light in a bedroom.
SPDT Switch (Single Pole Double Throw): It is used for on/off operation but have two switches and two ways to make a connection, e.g. a light in a hall that can be switched on and off from the hall or the landing.
DPST (Double pole Single Throw): It is a pair of SPST switches that operate together. Both are open or closed at the same time. DPDT (Double Pole Double Throw): It is a pair of SPDT switches that operate together. Switching the DPDT switch controls two circuits. It is usually used to change the speed or direction of a motor. E.g. when you switch on a hairdryer (with one mechanical switch) two electrical switches are activated inside one to turn on the fan and one to turn on the heat.
Other Switches
Electric Socket
It is an electrical device used to connect to a power source onto which another device can be plugged or screwed in. It is also known as electrical outlet.
Types Of Socket
On the basis of ampere there are two types of sockets available in market for domestic purpose: 5/6 Amp Socket It is used for domestic low loading appliances such as tv, table fan, charging etc.
15/16 Amp Socket This is used for heavy loading appliances such as A/C, Refrigerator, washing machine, gyeser, oven, iron, heater etc.
