CONNOTATION= THE MEANING OF THE PHRASE DENOTATION=THE EXACT MEANING OF THE WORD
TYPE OF CONNOTATION
POSITIVE CONNOTATION-IF THE WORD IS USED TO SAY SOMETHING GOOD,ITS GOT A POSITIVE CONNOTATION. NEGATIVE CONNOTATION:IF THE WORD IS USED TO SAY SOMETHING BAD,THEN ITS NEGATIVE CONNOTATION.
EXAMPLE
STRONG-WILLED AND PIG-HEADED
Strong-willed shows positive connotation meanwhile pig-headed shows negative connotation.
PRACTICE EXAMPLE 1
Thin Thin (neutral) - a body size that is the opposite of fat. Slim (positive) - used to describe an attractive body shape which is thin. Skinny (negative) to be too thin.
