Nacido en Nueva York el 25 de octubre de 1918, estudi en la New York University; fue seguidor de Jean Piaget. Falleci el 9 de julio del 2008 a los 90 aos. David Paul Ausubel fue un psiclogo e investigador. Una de sus contribuciones ms importantes fue el desarrollo de la teora del aprendizaje significativo y los organizadores anticipados.

Baso sus teoras en sus estudios de Jean Piaget.

Estas teoras sustentan que el alumno debe construir sus propios esquemas de conocimiento para comprender mejor los conceptos.
