Comparison of curriculum between Malaysia and Singapore.

Curriculum Framework
11 years of basic education - 6 years for primary & 5 years for secondary. major exams at the end of year 6, form 3 and form 5. Centralized exams promotes unity through the national language. same core subjects for all schools in primary. cultural diversity is preserved through National Type Schools. Use of integrated approach. Comprises of content and skills, with emphasis on the development of basic skills, the acquisition of knowledge and thinking skills. Each subject is incorporated with the inculcation of moral values. 10 years of basic education 6 years of primary & 4 years of secondary. major exams at the end of primary(to place them in the appropriate secondary school course) and secondary education. Centralized exam with greater focus through formative assessment. Importance is given to English, mother tongue and Maths in primary education. inculcate global outlook by offering foreign language - French, German and Japanese (only for the able students). Secondary curriculum is set according to abilities and interests of students. Content, skills, competencies, values and attitudes are given equal emphasis.
