InterStim Therapy
Utilizes mild electrical pulses to the nerves associated with voiding function. Through neurostimulation, significantly improved or normal voiding is restored.
A test is done prior to implant to determine how a patient will respond to the implanted device Performed in the office or surgery center A lead is surgically implanted near the sacral nerve (S2, S3, or S4) Lead is connected to an external device worn on the patients belt for a period of 3-7 days Patient will record his/her voiding behavior in a diary

Sarahs Story
Being only 40 years old, I was self conscious about need to catheterize all the time. I am very active in sports, hiking, and taking long walks with my dog Randy all of which I couldnt do with a catheter.
