A STUDY ON FOCUSSING RETAINING THE EMPLOYEES IN BIG BAZAAR PRIVATE LIMITED

OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE A study focusing on retaining the employees in big bazaar private limited.

SECONDARY OBJECTIVE

To identify the measure to increase the employee retention. To find his/her satisfaction level about his job pay. To analyse the facilities provided by the organisation to its employee. To analyse the reason for employee turnover. To analyse working environment.

NEED OF THIS STUDY

Employee retention is tougher now days which mainly affects the business growth drastically. So it is necessary to analyze how to retain the employees in the organization and analyze what are all the reasons that makes employees to leave the organization and also suggest suitable measures to retain the skilled employees in the organization which improves the performance of the business and shows a drastic development of the organization by retaining the skilled employees. SCOPE OF THE STUDY It is not about managing retention. It is about managing people if an organization manages people well, employee retention will take care of itself organization should focus on managing the work environment to make better use of the available human respects. A friendly and cooperative environment. A feeling that the organization is second home to the employee.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY RESEARCH METHODOLOGY is a way to systematically solve the research problem. It is a science of studying hoe research is done scientifically. In it, we study the various steps that are generally adopted by a researcher in studying his/her research problem along with the logic behind them. RESEARCH DESGIN Descriptive Research has been used; which involves surveys and fact-findings of different kinds. The main characteristics of this method are that the researcher has no control over the variable; he can only report what has happened or what is happening. DATA COLLECTION TOOLS Primary data Secondary data SELECTION OF SAMPLES Sample design The sampling method adopted was convenience sampling technique. Sample size The sampling size for the study was 50 employees of big bazaar, Chennai. The employees selected were from different department. Target population is Team members those who are directly dealing with customers.

LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY

The study is limited to a sample size of only 50 employees. Hence the sample collected need not to be a true representative universe.

This study cannot be taken for the entire big bazaar, because it focuses only on one particular branch in the big bazaar Private Limited.

There is a chance of personal bias which affects his/her original data.

FINDINGS

Most of the respondents belongs to the age group between 20-25. Most of the respondents belongs to the female category. Most of the employees are satisfied with the salary given to them. Majority of employees feel satisfied and likes the salary what they get.

More than half of the employees are getting good relationship between co-workers and supervisors.
More than half of the employees are agree with given rewards and recognition. Most of the respondents agree that they have a specific pay structure in the organization.

Most of the respondents feel that training programs were satisfied.


Majority of the respondents says that the management comes forward when the employees are facing critical situation. Majority of employees feel that the work environment provided in the organization are satisfied.

More than half of the employees feel that the facilities provided by the organisation are satisfied.

Based on statistical analysis

2. Rewards and recognition and bonus on time.

SUGGESTIONS

The employee feedback is important, unresolved employee issues may cause an employee feel they are not part of the team.

Providing good benefits to your employees is a great way to retain them. Management can encourage the employees to be open their suggestions Promote co-worker friendship

CONCLUSION

The process of retention is not as easy as it seems but there are so many tactics, strategies and techniques used in the retention of employees by the organization. The basic purpose of these strategies is to increase employee satisfaction, boost employee morale and hence achieve retention. Providing good benefits to the employees is great way to retain them. The results from this study showed the factors that affects employee retention and causes a major impact on the motivational level and performance. Therefore retention is one of the key areas where the management has to concentrate o the main factors, which motivates them and improve the employees performance level and the factors which mainly helps the organization to retain skilled employees in the organization. The main factors are organizational environment, job satisfaction, talent utilization, good culture, good succession plan, responsiveness, salary, recognition , encouragement these are the key which help the organization to retain the skilled employees
