Introduction

Personnel Management(PM) is a self explanatory term.


Its function has the primary objective of providing suitable manpower in number and with certain ability, skills and knowledge. Its goal is to control personnel cost through continuous increase in manpower productivity by restoring to the following techniques:
HRD through training and upgrading employee skills. Motivation through leadership and job enrichment. Promotion and rewards through performance appraisal. Grievance handling. Structuring the organization.

Financial management function has a primary objective of meeting the financial needs of the business, from time to time, by way of providing working capital and long-term loans to run the business with the goal of containing the cost of capital at the minimum. In meeting the objectives, FM uses a variety of tools and techniques as following:
Break even Analysis Cost Analysis Cash Flow Projections Ratio Analysis Capital budgeting and ROI analysis Financial modelling Management Accounting Expense Analysis, auditing and control

Finance Management

The objective of production management is to provide manufacturing services to the organization. This involves the manufacture of products of a certain specified quality and within certain costs in a stipulated time fulfilling the promises given to the customer. The functional goals of PM are: Better utilisation of manufacturing capacity Minimal rejections Maximum uptime of the plant and equipment Meeting the delivery promises.

Production Management

Materials Management

MIS in materials management deals with planning and building design for the movement of materials, or with logistics that deal with the tangible components of a supply chain. Specifically, this covers the acquisition of raw material, spare parts and replacements, quality control of purchasing and ordering such parts, and the standards involved in ordering, shipping, and warehousing the said parts. The goal of materials management is to provide an unbroken chain of components for production to manufacture goods on time for the customer base.

Management Information System applied on Marketing management is primarily focused on the practical application of marketing techniques and the management of a firm's marketing resources and activities. Rapidly emerging forces of globalization have led firms to market beyond the borders of their home countries, making international marketing highly significant and an integral part of a firm's marketing strategy. MIS allows these firms to get raw data about consumers and buyers, and various demographics that gives them an edge over the Marketing Management competitors.

The information type and format analysed and reported by the MIS can be organized in the following way:

Input Transaction Documents- The various forms or data, or information or documents which serve as input for the various management departments. Application Data- The data that is fed into the application to generate a report or query. Accounted/Analysed data- The data that is organized, stored and computed upon by the MIS. Reports- The reports of the system will be used mainly by The Personnel Department and the Top Management.
