Eliminating defenders
Run away from the defenders stick. Make the defender commit. Get the defender out of their center of gravity-leaning to one side. Protect the ball from the tackle-do not stick obstruct. Stay in your center-the next defender is close by.

Beating divers
Diving defenders can be beaten by moving the ball away from their stick or over their stick. Their stick may swing towards you.

Preventing defender

Change direction
Change direction to beat the defender. The forward was running towards the goal and now cuts to the right.
