What is Interventions
The term Intervention refers to a set of sequenced, planned

actions or events intended to help an organization to increase its effectiveness. Interventions purposely disrupt the status quo; they are deliberate attempts to change an organization or sub-unit toward a different and more effective state

Characteristics of OD Interventions
An OD intervention focus on organisational process

apart from substantive content of an activity An OD intervention focuses on work team as the unit of analysis and change towards effective behaviour OD would view change as an ongoing process and would rely on a collaborative management of work culture

Team building Intervention


Team building refers to the various activities

undertaken to motivate the team members and increase the overall performance of the team.

Difference between Group and Team


GROUP

performance of the group .i.e. to take stock of where we are going and how we are doing and also to identify the problems so that we may work on The formal group diagnostic meeting permits a group to critique itself and to identify its strengths and problem areas and it allows everyone to participate in generating the necessary data.

The formal group team building meeting has the goal

of improving the teams effectiveness through better management of task demands, relationship demand and group processes . It is the inward look by the team at its own behaviours and strengthening functional ones.

Purpose of team building


To set goals and priorities
To analyze or allocate the way work is performed To examine the way a group is working its

processes(such as norms, decision making, communication) To examine relationships among the people doing the work

Process consultation interventions


Process consultation places greater emphasis on

diagnosing and understanding process events. Process consultation (PC) represents an approach or a method for intervening in ongoing system The main theme of the approach is that a skilled third party(consultant) works with individuals and groups to help them learn about human and social processes and learn to solve problems that stem from process events
