MORALITY ---- LEVELS OF


Levels of moral Dev
Level -1 (Pre-conventional) --- Physical consequences and individual needs determine moral behavior
Level-2 (Conventional) --- Approval of others plays a major role as well as compliance with authority and rules

Stages of Moral Dev


1. Physical consequences determine moral behavior 2. Individual needs are primary motives
3. Approval of others is major determinant of behavior 4. Compliance with authority and social order are primary concerns

Examples of Moral Reasoning


1. I wouldnt hit him because he may harm me 2. Ill help her because she would help me.
3. Ill go along with you because I want you to like me. 4. Ill comply with the order because it is wrong to disabey 5. Although I disagree with his views, Ill uphold his right to have them. 6. There is no external force that can compel me to do an act that I consider morally wrong. 10
