Objectives:
To discuss the Japanese colonization in the Philippines. To know who are the people involved in the military administration. To show the life of the Filipino's under the Japanese Colonization.

Established on January 3, 1942

Used to administer the political, economic & cultural affairs of the country Headed by a director general
The first director general was General Yoshihide Hayashi and the second one was Takasi Wachi. It received orders from Tokyo.

The orders from Tokyo were to be implemented in the Philippines. Areas occupied by the Japanese were to be put under martial law. Curfews and blackouts were implemented in Manila. Guns and firearms of civilians were confiscated.

Any violent action against Japan had its corresponding penalty. Ten Filipino lives were to be taken in exchange for one Japanese killed by a Filipino.

Radio communication was monitored in such a way that no message would be received from Australia. All establishments were placed under the control of the Japanese Military Administration

Lt. Gen. Masaharu Homma, commander-inchief of the Japanese Imperial Forces in the Philippines, announced the establishment of martial law under a Japanese Military Administration.

Jose Abad Santos, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. He became famous because before he was executed he told his weeping son: Dont cry, Pepito. Show these people that you are brave. It is rare opportunity for me to die for our country. Not everyone is given that chance.

The Japanese also announced that their end was to free the Filipinos from Oppressive Domination of America and to establish the Philippine as a part of the Great East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere.

Jorge B. Vargas The chairman of the six department which is headed by Filipino Commissioners who had served the Common wealth Government.

Edwin Ramsey -He volunteered for service in the Philippines with 26th cavalry regiment. -He formed guerilla forces in Central Luzon -His battle with the Japanese lasted for three years

Walter Crushing He was one of three MexicanAmerican Cushing brothers living in the Philippines whom immediately began organizing some local Filipinos into a guerrilla unit in order to help with the war effort if called upon. He leaded the 121st Infantry was one of the more important and more successful guerrilla organizations in the Philippines during the war.
