History

Ardeshir started manufacturing locks in a tiny shed in Lalbaug, in Central Mumbai.

His brother Pirojsha Godrej joined the business in the year 1906. Their efforts eventually lead to the foundation of the GODREJ empire. Pirojsha laid the foundation for the sprawling industrial garden township now called Pirojshanagar in the suburbs of Mumbai.

Presently exporting their products to 30 countries. The first company in the world to develop the technology to manufacture soap with vegetable oils. The spirit of entrepreneurship, the vision of a dynamic tomorrow, and the capacity to build and realize dreams! This is the essence of the Godrej group.

Godrej Locks is a business unit ofGodrej & Boyce Mfg. Co. Ltd. In 1897, Godrej started manufacturing locks. Godrej is into locks and security solutions for over 113 years.

Starting out with a traditional tala in 1897 to a springless lock in 1907 to the iconic Navtal in 1954 to the Ultra range in 1955 to the revolutionary 3KS in 2010,has set a benchmark in the lock industry. High degree of security to consumers with implementation of latest technology and constant innovation. Over the years, our locks have changed in form, function and scope of application, but one thing remains constant the solid stamp of trust and reliability.
