    The software Camouflage allows users to hide files by scrambling them and attaching them to another file, making the camouflaged file appear and behave like a normal file. To camouflage a file, the user selects the file in Windows Explorer, right clicks, and chooses "Camouflage." They then select the file to hide the data in and specify a name and password for the camouflaged file. To extract hidden files, the user right clicks the camouflaged file and chooses "Uncamouflage," entering the password to see a list of hidden files and extract them to a chosen folder.

    The Software Camouflage allows the user to hide files by scrambling them and then attaching them to the file of the users choice. This camouflaged file then looks and behaves like a normal file, and can be stored/ saved or emailed without attracting attention.

    After installing the software Camouflage you will find two new menu options when you right-click the option Files in Windows Explorer.

    The options you will see are 'Camouflage' and 'Uncamouflage


    To camouflage a file or several files (file or files to be hidden) at a time the user will have to select them in Windows Explorer, then the right click mouse button and choose 'Camouflage' from the pop-up menu.

    In the second screen the user will have to choose a file to be used as camouflage i.e. file in which you want to hide the data.
    In the third screen the user will have to specify a file name by which the camouflaged file is to be saved. In the last screen the user will have to enter a password.

    To extract the files hidden within a camouflaged file, the user will have to right-click on Windows Explorer and choose 'Uncamouflage' from the pop-up menu. A password prompt will appear in the Uncamouflage dialog box. The next screen will display a list of the files hidden within the camouflaged file.

    In the final screen, the user will have to choose the folder where the files are to be extracted

    To install camouflage double click on Camouflage.exe

    Click on Unzip to continue installing Camouflage

    Click on Next to continue with installation.

    Click on Yes to continue with installation.

    Click on Next to continue with installation

    Click on Next to continue with installation.

    Click on Next to continue with installation.

    Click on Finish to complete installation and use Camouflage

    Select the file you want to hide using camouflage.

    Right Click on the file to be camouflaged and select Camouflage

    Click Next to continue

    Click on the browse option to select the file in which you want to hide the data.

    In this example we have selected flower_1.jpg to hide the file Confidential.xls. Then click on the option Open

    Click on Next to continue

    Now specify the name of the camouflaged file and click on the option Next

    Window will pop up prompting for password.

    Enter the password and click on Finish.

    New camouflaged file flower_2.jpg is created.

    To see the difference in the two files right click on the current window containing the original and camouflaged file. Now click on View and select the option Details.

    Now compare the size of the two files:flower_1.jpg and flower_2.jpg

    Right Click on the camouflaged file and select the option Uncamouflage

    Window will pop up prompting for password

    Enter the correct password and click on Next

    The two files will be displayed in this window: original file and the file which was hidden. Click Next to continue

    Here you must select the folder where you want the two files to be copied. Click on Browse Icon to select a folder

    Click on Save, the files will be saved in Extracted File folder

    Click on finish to proceed
