CPU
Nehalem CPU X5550 Xeon Processor
> Quad 2.66 GHz > 8MB Cache > Same processor that was used in the Intel TPA node
Memory
18 total memory slots
> 3 Channels per CPU
9 slots
Memory
Fill in numeric order.(1 DIMM in each of the 3 channels) Fill in sets of3 DIMMs at a time for each CPU 2 CPUs A and B channels memory should match both capacity and speed BIOS setting should be in Optimized mode 96GB configurations
> A1-A6 and B1-B6 should be populated. Note 1-6 is not directly left to right

Power Supplies
2 Versions
> 570W Energy Smart > 870W High Output > High Output is the only one used in Teradata systems
Redundant
> Hot Swappable
LEDs
> Green PS is working ok > Amber PS has a problem > Flashing Green and Amber Mismatched PS. Only replace the flashing PS

LCD Panel
New and Improved LCD panel
The system's LCD panel provides system information and status messages to signify when the system is operating correctly or when the system needs attention.
> Asset and Service Tags > MAC addresses > System temperature
The LCD backlight lights blue during normal operating conditions and lights amber to indicate an error condition.

Identify drive/preparing for removal Drive ready for insertion or removal NOTE: The drive status indicator remains off until all hard drives are initialized after system power is applied. Drives are not ready for insertion or removal during this time.
Blinks green, amber, and off 1 drive-activity indicator (green) 2 drive-status indicator (green and amber) Blinks amber four times per second Blinks green slowly Steady green

No tape drive on the node. The tape drive will reside in the SWS Only 4 onboard NICs available, 2 less than Intel
Only 4 adapter slots available, 1 less than Intel Number of memory DIMMs available. Not fully populated so need to pay attention to which slots to fill. More hard drive slots available. 3 hard drives slots can be filled for customer use Dump drive is 450GB instead of 300GB All adapters are standard height face plates, no low profile face plates Riser cards are not removed to install adapters Most components such as adapters are installed without screws. Screws that secure chassis to rails are under the front latches
> Make sure it lines up with the notch during installation
> Onboard NIC MAC address skip 1 address for each port Ex: 00:26:B9:3A:FC:9E > 00:26:B9:3A:FC:A0 > 00:26:B9:3A:FC:A2 > 00:26:B9:3A:FC:A4
TPA node uses 8GB DIMM. TMS uses 4GB DIMMs. TPA node will use LSI FC adapters All TPA node onboard NIC ports are in use
SWS with tape drives will have a 3rd 146GB drive installed to help store dumps if needed
