LCD Panel
New and Improved LCD panel

The system's LCD panel provides system information and status messages to signify when the system is operating correctly or when the system needs attention.
> Asset and Service Tags > MAC addresses > System temperature

The LCD backlight lights blue during normal operating conditions and lights amber to indicate an error condition.
> SEL log entry or Simple mode

Differences between Intel and Dell nodes

Different Chassis, baseboard, Storage Card
> BIOS, drivers, storage management software

No tape drive on the node. The tape drive will reside in the SWS Only 4 onboard NICs available, 2 less than Intel

Only 4 adapter slots available, 1 less than Intel Number of memory DIMMs available. Not fully populated so need to pay attention to which slots to fill. More hard drive slots available. 3 hard drives slots can be filled for customer use Dump drive is 450GB instead of 300GB All adapters are standard height face plates, no low profile face plates Riser cards are not removed to install adapters Most components such as adapters are installed without screws. Screws that secure chassis to rails are under the front latches
> Make sure it lines up with the notch during installation

> Onboard NIC MAC address skip 1 address for each port Ex: 00:26:B9:3A:FC:9E > 00:26:B9:3A:FC:A0 > 00:26:B9:3A:FC:A2 > 00:26:B9:3A:FC:A4

Differences between TMS and TPA

TPA node has 1 dump drive TPA node runs 2.66GHz. TMS node runs 2.4GHz. TPA node will always have 2 CPUs installed
> TMS will possibly have blank heatsink installed > TMS will possibly have only A channel DIMMs installed

TPA node uses 8GB DIMM. TMS uses 4GB DIMMs. TPA node will use LSI FC adapters All TPA node onboard NIC ports are in use

Tape Drive in SWS

Same DAT72 tape drive that is currently in the Intel TPA nodes Plug and play, should function the same way it does in the Intel node Will need to move dump to SWS similar to how dumps are moved between TPA nodes
> Only the server management network is available to transfer dump files. > Roughly 12 minutes for 48GB dump file

SWS with tape drives will have a 3rd 146GB drive installed to help store dumps if needed

The End

Any Questions?
